Having spent years in the United States as a Masters and PhD student and practicing lawyer, Dr. Liu deeply understands the daily and social struggles of immigrants and international visitors. His experience has led him to write about transgender rights, gender equity, disaster displacement, refugees, and humanitarian-development nexus issues. Committed to social justice, Dr. Liu worked as a journalist and researcher and has volunteered through numerous capacities. He currently sits on the board of Taiwan Alliance to Promote Civil Partnership Rights (TAPCPR) – a grassroot NGO dedicated to gender issues. Paul’s career began as an entrepreneur where he started, built and sold a multi-million dollar business in Vancouver, British Columbia. Soon after, he pivoted and pursued and studied acting, spending time in New York, London and Vancouver. Following his thirst for change, he found himself back in the corporate world as a VP for a multi-billon dollar company that traded on the London Stock Exchange. With the pandemic, Paul pivoted once again and pursued his master degree in clinical counselling. What sparks his curiosity?
