Examen

With the Lenten season approaching—Ash Wednesday is next week—Jamie and Jeremy ponder preparation and prayer. The Daily Examen is one of many prayer practices to consider experimenting with and possibly implementing into our daily lives with hopes of connecting deeper to God. Intentional consideration of prayer practices is another way we can grow in our second half living.

Adult Friendships

Peter and Jamie share stories of when they first met, some stories that chronicled in Jamie's memoir The Green-Clad Kicker: A True Story of Love, Faith, and College, and some that the memoir reminded them of after reading. When considering adult friendships, Jamie and Peter touch on longevitiy, benefits, and challenges and discuss the evolution of their twenty-three year friendship.

Grief

Jamie and her guest Jill Beverlin share about grief. They consider stories of grief in their own lives and ways they have—and continue to—manage and work through grief. They talk about the season of Epiphany and how Spirit moves in and through us amidst the "both/and" of life's many many joys and griefs.

Parenting

In this episode, Jamie and Deenna explore the big wide world of parenting. They share about the different seasons of parenting they have been through and what they have learned—and are continuing to learn—in and through each season. They also name the importance of setting intention around preparing for "when the birds are launched out of the nest," and being able to care for ourselves as parents when our kids transition to adulthood.
