The Soulful Catalyst Podcast
What if the thing keeping you stuck isn't your circumstances ...it's the conversation you're having with yourself every single day? In this episode of The Soulful Catalyst, I'm joined by Cheryl Fischer, Certified Life and Mindset Coach and host of the Mind Your Midlife podcast. Cheryl helps women in their 40s and 50s move out of quiet dissatisfaction and into greater confidence, purpose, and direction, whether that's launching a business, revitalising a relationship, or simply feeling like themselves again. Cheryl came to coaching through her own experience of it. She'd spent years in corporate, then retrained as a high school teacher, and eventually realised she was heading towards burnout and a future she didn't want. What changed everything for her was understanding the power of the thoughts running through her mind, and how much they were shaping the life she was living . What I found particularly compelling is the tool Cheryl now uses to start her coaching work, something called the Being Profile. Rather than diving straight into goals and action plans, she and her clients look first at how they're actually being in the world. Moods, patterns, levels of presence, courage, and connection. And almost every time, the results reveal something the client hadn't quite been able to name, but instantly recognises as true. It's a surprisingly powerful starting point. She also shares something that might feel a little uncomfortable at first. The habit of complaining, not the deep processing kind, but the ambient, automatic kind that fills so much of our daily conversation, is doing more harm than we realise. It's a habit most of us have, and it's worth a closer look 😌. In this episode, we explore: ➤ How the Being Profile works as a coaching starting point, and why understanding how you're being in the world matters more than setting goals before you've done that ➤ Why self-belief is the real engine of change, and how one client went from never speaking up in a room to leading a project, one small step at a time ➤ The complaining habit most of us don't even notice, and how changing the way we make conversation has a ripple effect on our relationships, our mindset, and how we see ourselves This episode is for anyone in their 40s or 50s who suspects the thing holding them back isn't a lack of skill or opportunity, but a story they've been telling themselves for a very long time.
