Ep#46 - This... Is Where We Rebuild (Allan Wills)

After finally moving into our own new homes, a sense of isolation and loneliness sets in for me. I'm now navigating a world I never imagined: starting over. Not being with my children everyday. This crosses friendships, social media use, business, raising children and so much more. On top of that, I injured myself (long rehab) and oil prices tripled when I needed to heat my home and water tank. Yet one thing became abundantly clear; I was surrounded by people that cared. One person in particular came to my new home and used a woman's eye to "feng shui" and find a story for each room in the house. Then she wrote notes, then a manifesto and a poem manifested - all to rally me and shake me out of my funk so I could realise the potential of what lay in front of me: a place to rebuild. Ep#45 - Best Interest: Co-Parenting Beyond Conflict (Sol Kennedy)

Sol Kennedy, based in California, heard about SparkHub and reached out to talk about a technical / AI driven solution he developed called BEST INTEREST designed to help those in high-conflict co-parenting situations.   When I spoke to Sol, I discovered another human being going through many of the same struggles that I was, and it helped to hear his story and how he focused his energy to find a solution to be the best father he could be.   We all want to be great fathers, none of us anticipated divorce, and yet those are the cards we were both dealt.   I’m still on the fence about AI, however Sol’s intent is genuine, and just the way he looked at a solution based on principles that we are expected to act on by courts, but fundamentally as parents: In the BEST INTERESTS of our children. Ep#44 - Truth and Reconciliation (Staging Ground)

This episode was recorded the day after we finally completed the sale of our marital home, 28 months after we separated and 20 months since we listed the home for sale. I also turned 49 years old. We are all finally living in new abodes and starting new lives apart. It’s been hell. I feel like I’ve fallen down a hill and caught myself as I watch my own children have to grow up faster than I intended, and start to lose their innocence. In this episode, I’m going to talk about all the torment I’ve gone through and see if it can lead to a better outcome - a better staging ground for new and better things in life. I’m going to also talk about the ongoing quest for truth and reconciliation, which Nelson Mandela pioneered in the 90s in South Africa, as well as what I learned from being a volunteer in Israel in 2005 before I moved to the UK - and everything that followed. In the show notes below the episode I will be putting pictures and videos that offer a deeper dive beyond the audio you are about to hear. Ep#43 - Moving Beyond Divorce: Control What Matters (Lee H. Baucom, PH.D.)

This episode represents a first in the SparkHub journey so far: Lee H., my guest, is the first guest I’ve had on SparkHub that I didn’t know before. Recently I’ve been receiving a bunch of cold emails from people asking if they can come on the podcast as a guest, and whilst most of the aspiring guests I dismiss because they aren’t relevant (or want to sell something), I was immediately captured by what Lee does, and how relevant it was to what I am going through right now in the final days of my divorce. Lee is based in the US and has over 25 years of experience in coaching couples to save their marriages or salvage a relationship post divorce. Our conversation went wide and deep on so many complicated aspects, and I really learned a lot from Lee, especially around frameworks and perspectives and priorities to help guide me. Ep#42 - 2025 Roundup: Riding the "J" Curve

It’s December 2025, and so the build to all the festivities are here, and soon it will be 2026. But I know that 2026 is going to be radically different, for reasons we’ll get into. In this episode I’m going to share some reflections about the cards life has dealt me; think of it like a year in review; looking back over dark times to connect the dots for what lies ahead. It is my hope that whatever is going on in your life, this episode will spark something in you as you ponder 2026, wherever you are, whoever you are. And I’m going to explore the past year as a divorced entrepreneurial father starting to think about love with radically changing priorities. I’ve also got some news, so if you listen all the way through, you’ll understand why the letter J is crucial to what comes next, and why you should never give up.
