Abba Father: From Orphan Spirit to Adopted Sonship In this Father’s Day message by Ps. Imee Francisco titled “Abba Father, the cry that was always yours” explores the word “Abba” being mentioned three times in Scripture—Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:6, and Jesus’ prayer in Gethsemane (“Abba Father… not my will but yours”). Ps. Imee teaches that crying “Abba” is not human effort but a gift given through the Holy Spirit because of Christ’s finished work, emphasizing God as a personal, good Father regardless of one’s earthly father experience. The sermon identifies “orphan spirit” mindsets—seeking love apart from God, comparison, internal strife, overperformance for approval, and confirmation bias from pain—and urges believers to replace them with their inheritance as adopted children, grounded in Scripture and the Spirit’s witness. It ends with a call to forgive, surrender wounds, and worship God as Abba. ------- Join us for our Sunday services at 10 AM and 4 PM.
