Descripción

What if the biggest thing missing from most fitness and weight loss plans is not motivation, discipline, or effort, but structure? In this episode, we take a deep dive into the YLF Framework and the philosophy behind building a forever active lifestyle. Instead of chasing perfection, extreme programs, or temporary motivation, this conversation focuses on creating a sustainable foundation built around your preferences, your schedule, and your real life. This episode explores: Why most people were never taught the “rules” of sustainable fitness How to build a foundation you can always fall back on The importance of defining your preferences first Why consistency works better than extremes Operating from a calm headspace at a deliberate pace How minimum daily actions and weekly goals reduce overwhelm Why flexibility and adjustments matter more than perfection Using progress tracking without obsessing over the scale How fitness and mindset principles carry into other areas of life The goal is not to create another rigid program.

The Least Important of the Most Important Things

What if fitness and weight loss aren't supposed to be the center of your life? In this episode, we explore the idea that while taking care of yourself is important, it should support the life you want to build, not become the life itself. Too often, we get caught up in meal plans, workouts, tracking, and routines to the point where we lose sight of the bigger picture. I share why building a Forever Active Lifestyle is about more than exercise and nutrition. It's about creating a life that aligns with your values, priorities, relationships, and sense of purpose. We discuss developing your own Forever Active Lifestyle Statement, a personal compass that helps guide your decisions and keeps your health habits connected to something meaningful. We also talk about the importance of staying connected to yourself, evaluating the relationships in your life, showing up for others from a place of self-respect, and letting go of guilt and shame around food, fitness, and weight loss. Your workouts matter. Your eating habits matter. But they are only pieces of a much larger picture. The goal is not to build a life around fitness. The goal is to build a life you love and allow fitness to support it. If you've been feeling overwhelmed by trying to do everything perfectly, this conversation will help you zoom out, reconnect with what matters most, and put your Forever Active Lifestyle into perspective.

episode Let's Cath Up On Things artwork

Let's Cath Up On Things

Tonight, I wanted to take some time to check in, share a few updates, and talk about what I've been learning through one of the more challenging seasons of my life. Over the past few weeks, my family and I have been navigating the loss of my dad. The support from family, friends, and this community has meant more than I can adequately express. While grief doesn't disappear, I've started finding my way back into a more normal routine and using that time to reflect on where Your Level Fitness is headed next. In this episode, I talk about: * Navigating grief while maintaining perspective * Why stepping away can sometimes create clarity * Simplifying the Your Level Fitness ecosystem * The importance of context in fitness and weight management * Why the answer is usually found somewhere between the extremes * The evolution of the YLF Framework * Creating your Forever Active Lifestyle Statement * The launch of the new Self-Paced Habit Library * Building habits based on where you are instead of where you think you should be * Returning to routines after life throws you off track * Why consistency is about coming back, not being perfect One of the biggest reminders from the past month is that life happens. Routines get interrupted. Priorities shift. Difficult seasons arrive. The goal isn't to avoid those moments. The goal is learning how to return when you're ready. We also discuss the new Forever Active Lifestyle Statement concept and how it serves as a compass for the life you're trying to build. Combined with the YLF Framework and the new Habit Library, these resources are designed to help you create a lifestyle that actually fits your life instead of forcing yourself into someone else's plan. If you'd like to explore the new Self-Paced Habit Library: https://yourlevelfitness.com/habits [https://yourlevelfitness.com/habits] Thank you for being part of this community and for allowing me to continue building these resources alongside you. Your feedback, questions, and experiences continue to shape what Your Level Fitness becomes.

episode Seeing Progress Even When Everything Feels Off Track artwork

Seeing Progress Even When Everything Feels Off Track

In this episode, I continue the conversation around operating in “bonus mode” and what it really looks like to search for wins during difficult seasons of life. Right now, I’m navigating grief, exhaustion, stress, routine disruption, and trying to process a lot of change all at once. And through all of it, one of the biggest things I keep coming back to is this idea that every positive action counts, even when it feels small. A workout becomes a win. Meal prepping becomes a win. Choosing a better option at the grocery store becomes a win. Stretching becomes a win. Going live one time during a difficult week becomes a win. In this episode, I talk about: What “bonus mode” actually looks like in real life Navigating grief while still trying to care for yourself Learning to see victories in everyday decisions Why hypercritical thinking makes difficult seasons harder The importance of compassion and self-awareness Focusing on quality over quantity with habits Building a mindset that supports you instead of works against you How your mental approach influences fitness, weight loss, and life overall A major theme throughout this conversation is learning to deliberately pull yourself back toward compassion when your mind starts becoming overly critical. So many people believe they are failing simply because life interrupted their normal structure, but difficult seasons do not erase who you are or the consistency you have built. This episode is a reminder that progress is not only found in perfect routines. Sometimes progress is simply continuing to look for opportunities, continuing to care for yourself, and continuing to choose kindness toward yourself while life feels overwhelming. And sometimes, the win is simply getting through the day while still believing in yourself enough to try again tomorrow.

episode Bonus Mode: How to Keep Going When Life Gets Heavy artwork

Bonus Mode: How to Keep Going When Life Gets Heavy

What do you do when life gets overwhelming, your routine falls apart, and you no longer have the energy to operate at your best? In this episode, I talk about the idea of “bonus mode,” a mindset shift that can help you continue showing up for yourself during difficult seasons without the pressure of perfection. Right now, I’m personally navigating grief after the passing of my dad, and this conversation comes directly from the middle of that experience. Instead of focusing on doing everything perfectly, I’m focusing on the small things I am able to do. A workout becomes a bonus. Laundry becomes a win. Cooking at home instead of grabbing fast food becomes progress. We spend so much time believing that if we cannot operate at 100%, there is no point in trying at all. But life is seasonal. There will be moments where your optimized routine simply is not realistic, and learning how to adapt without completely disconnecting from yourself is one of the most important skills you can develop. In this episode, I talk about: Why “bonus mode” can help you survive difficult seasons Letting go of all-or-nothing thinking How to focus on small wins without guilt Navigating grief, stress, and overwhelm while still moving forward Why sustainability matters more than perfection Learning to assess what you are realistically capable of during hard moments Building a forever active lifestyle that can evolve with life’s challenges This is a reminder that progress is not only measured by your best days. Sometimes the biggest victory is simply continuing to show up in whatever way you can.

episode Clearing Out The Old Thought Patterns Around Body Image artwork

Clearing Out The Old Thought Patterns Around Body Image

In this episode, we dive into one of the most uncomfortable but important parts of improving body image and self-perception: acknowledging how you’ve truly been talking to yourself about yourself. We talk about: The negative thought patterns many people carry for years Internal criticism and self-judgment How old comments and experiences shape body image Why people often avoid confronting how they feel about themselves The emotional side of self-awareness and healing Observing thoughts instead of automatically believing them Clearing out old mental patterns before building new ones Why growth requires honesty and patience Learning to create space for healthier self-talk The ongoing process of changing how you see yourself This episode also explores the idea that body image healing is not about becoming perfect or never struggling with negative thoughts again. It’s about learning how to: recognize those thoughts, stop automatically identifying with them, and intentionally build a healthier relationship with yourself over time. We also touch on the emotional reality of working through difficult seasons in life while still trying to move forward, stay grounded, and continue building routines that support long-term well-being. Because healing and growth are rarely clean or linear. And sometimes the most important step is simply being willing to stop running from what you’ve been carrying internally for years.
