Acerca de Three Questions with Meghann Koppele Duffy

Three Questions invites you, the listener, to think beyond the expected, while having a great time doing it. Each episode explores a single topic where Meghann shares research, insights from her 24 years experience, and some great stories. But rather than telling you what to think, she'll ask three thought-provoking questions that spark curiosity, challenge assumptions, and help you come to your own conclusions.Whether you’re a movement pro, partner, parent, spouse, friend, or child, this podcast is for YOU. Each episode is around 30 minutes to tackle Three Questions with three big goals in mind:1️⃣ Foster Curiosity and critical thinking: Because a little curiosity might just save the movement industry… and maybe the world. 2️⃣ Share What Works: Share techniques, observations, and research that Meghann believes in wholeheartedly. 3️⃣ Have Fun: Life’s hard enough. Let’s laugh and keep it real along the way.

Episode 61 - The Art of Asking Better Questions

Are you just asking questions hoping someone confirms what you already believe? In this episode of Three Questions, I unpack the art of asking better questions and why it matters in teaching, relationships, learning, and even personal growth. I share stories from my courses, my interviews, my marriage, and even working for my dad to explore how communication breaks down and what we can do differently.  In This Episode You’ll Hear: • The three types of answers most people are really looking for • Why defensiveness shuts down curiosity and communication • How better questions can turn passive learning into active problem-solving Whether you’re a movement teacher, clinician, coach, or just someone trying to communicate more clearly, this episode will help you realize that sometimes the biggest obstacle isn’t a lack of information. It’s not knowing what questions we actually need to ask. Episode 60 - The Questions We Shouldn’t Wait to Ask - Part 2: A Conversation With My Mom

In this episode of Three Questions, I sit down with my mom for a conversation about motherhood, marriage, identity, family, and the stories we carry from generation to generation. We talk about the invisible labor of being a mother, the pressure women feel to “do it all,” family dynamics, and why confidence sometimes looks very different on the inside than it does on the outside. In This Episode You’ll Hear: • Why “doing what works for your family” mattered more than following parenting advice • How family dynamics shape confidence, boundaries, and identity • Why it’s never too late to stay curious, learn new things, and become more yourself This conversation made me laugh, reflect, and appreciate how much wisdom can live inside ordinary stories, especially from the people closest to us. I hope this episode encourages you to sit down and have the conversations with the people you love most sooner rather than later. Episode 59 - The Questions We Shouldn't Wait to Ask - Part 1: A Conversation With My Dad

In this episode of Three Questions, I sit down with someone who has shaped so much of how I think about family, work, relationships, and life: my dad. This conversation is part storytelling, part reflection, and part reminder that the people closest to us often hold the lessons we need most. We talk about family dynamics, leadership, marriage, taking risks, building a career around what you love, and the importance of being present for the people who matter. My dad shares what he learned from his own parents, why he always prioritized family despite working hard, and the business advice that shaped the way he led people for over 50 years.  In This Episode You'll Hear: • Why treating people well matters more than managing “things” • Why family became the foundation for both leadership and business success  • How taking risks and “not should-ing yourself” can change your life Whether your parents are still here or you’re carrying their lessons with you in different ways, I hope this episode encourages you to ask the questions that matter most. Episode 58 - To Correct or Not to Correct… Let’s Explore the Question

In this episode of Three Questions, I unpack one of the most commonly misunderstood topics in movement and teaching: correction. Correction isn’t just about pointing out what’s wrong… it’s about understanding the person in front of you, clarifying your intention, and helping the brain learn, not just comply. In This Episode You’ll Hear: • Why correction without context often creates confusion, not change • How autonomy, competence, and relatedness shape real learning • Why building awareness beats fixing movement every time This episode is part movement science, part communication strategy, and part reality check for how we help people change.  So if you’re coaching, teaching, or just trying to communicate better, this episode will give you a more thoughtful and effective way to guide change. episode Episode 57 - The Core Question: Research, Breathing, Bracing, and What We Might Be Missing artwork

Episode 57 - The Core Question: Research, Breathing, Bracing, and What We Might Be Missing

In this episode of Three Questions, I break down one of the most debated topics in movement right now: core activation, bracing, and breathing.  Instead of choosing sides, I walk you through how to think critically about the studies, question your own cues, and focus on what actually matters: your client’s outcome. We’ll explore why defining your intention matters more than the cue itself, how sensory input might be more powerful than motor inputs, and why what works in the studio doesn’t always transfer to real life. Because at the end of the day, it’s not about being “right…” It’s about being effective. In This Episode You’ll Hear: • Why “cueing the core” might be solving the wrong problem • How sensory input (not just muscle cues) drives better movement outcomes • Why research should guide your thinking, not replace it So before you cue the core one more time, take a second to ask yourself what you actually mean and what you’re hoping it’s going to do.
