Descripción

Big transitions have a way of exposing what's really going on in our hearts. In this episode of Together in the Trenches, CJ and Bethany talk about moving into a new season of ministry, moving to a new city, selling their home, and changes to their children's education. All while learning to trust God in the uncertainty between what was and what will be. Together, they discuss: * What major life transitions reveal about our fears, faith, and priorities * How to protect your marriage when stress and uncertainty are high * Helping children navigate seasons of change * How God often does some of His deepest work during seasons of transition Whether you're changing jobs, moving to a new city, walking through a ministry transition, or simply facing an unexpected season of life, this conversation will encourage you to trust God's faithfulness when the path ahead isn't entirely clear. Because while circumstances change, God's character never does.

episode Postpartum Depression + Marriage and Memory in Eternity artwork

Postpartum Depression + Marriage and Memory in Eternity

This week, we’re pulling back the curtain on the wins and losses we’ve faced in parenting, marriage, and ministry. We also wrestle with some big eternal questions:     •    What (or who) will we remember in heaven?     •    Will we be married there?     •    Will we still know each other? On a more personal note, we share openly about our own postpartum journey, the struggles, the hope, and the very real battle with depression. What does the gospel say to the discouraged and hurting? And what practical advice can we offer to those walking through the same valley? This episode is a mix of honesty, encouragement, and biblical hope, reminding us that even in the deepest trenches, we aren’t alone. Fighting the Good Fight – Marriage, Parenting, and Life in the Trenches

In this first episode of Together in the Trenches, we introduce the heart behind our name and the mission of this podcast. Inspired by Paul’s words in 2 Timothy 4:7 — “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” , we talk about why life, marriage, parenting, and ministry all feel like a battle, and how we’re called to fight faithfully together. We share a bit about who we are, how long we’ve been married, our family, and the ways we serve in our local church. You’ll also hear some fun insights about each other as we kick things off. Then we dive into some real conversations about marriage and parenting in today’s world:     •    Are those viral “you only have 12 summers with your kids” videos really true for Christians?     •    Do husbands “babysit” their own children?     •    And what about the social media trend: “How do you know you didn’t marry a loser?” Join us as we unpack these questionsand share some biblical perspective.
