Okay, so the guys in Farewell Teddy know that lyrics like the ones you just read probably won't be getting them a Grammy nomination any time soon— but that doesn't stop them from exploring their track, "Prendergast" — a dark, fever dream of a tune, packed with allusions to the assasination of Chicago mayor, Carter Harrison III in 1893, an act which not only ended a man's life but brought the entire 1893 Chicago World's Fair to a bitter end.
At its core, this song is a strange, surreal glimpse into the human heart — full of fear, paranoia, and impending doom. With rhythmic banjos, pounding percussion, and haunting chants, this song will give you chills in the best way possible. Farewell Teddy is an indie rock duo that no one's ever heard of from Atlanta, GA, USA. James and Nathan (founding members/only members) both love making as much original music as they possibly can in their spare time. They write, record, and produce all their own stuff ... and that should impress you. Their style has been called "Eclectic" and "Amazing" by the band themselves. They've also been described as, "Like the Beatles, but more country," by some person. Farewell Teddy draws from their deep and vast pool of artistic influences — citing everyone from the Beatles, the Kinks, Wilco, and Hank Williams to Oasis, Jack Johnson (the musician), Jack Johnson (the boxer), and God (the deity) as inspiration.
