Acerca de True Crime With Millennials

Two millennials decided to make a podcast about true crime where we talk about large cases, unheard cases, and more. We advocate for mental health, the unheard and underrepresented communities, as well as covering historical cases. This podcast is not for the faint of heart. Get Ready. We’re on hiatus for a month! Be sure to catch up on the episodes and get ready for season 2!

Don't Look Under The Mattress: Jayme Closs

On this weeks episode of TCWM we are talking about the Jayme Closs case that was asked for by Kodak or @kod4chrome on Instagram. We talk about mental health (of course) on this episode, but also about how growing up in differnet enviornments can potentially affect your behavior. This case doesn't necessarily have a "happy ending", but there is something that is different from essentially every other case we've covered. Also, to find out what the title means, you have to listen to the episode.  **PLEASE READ** Hi! CJ here. We are going to be moving to releasing every other Monday instead of every Monday. We may eventually move back to weekly, but right now between my classes being full time/other things going on and Rachel working full time, things are getting to be a bit too much for our mental health. Like I said, this might be temporary or it might not. We will of course keep you guys updated though. And as always, if you have any cases you want to hear about, be sure to reach out to us via email Truecrimewithmillennials@gmail.com or @truecrimewithmillennials on Instagram. -CJ

Found Frozen: Selena Not Afraid

We are starting a new series about missing and murdered indigenous women. It's not going to be coming out every week, but we are going to aim for at least once a month. We want to use our platform to bring attention to this very prevalent issue, and this week we are talking about one of the more well known cases, focusing on Selena Not Afraid in Montana. There is a lot of mystery surrounding this case as well as a lot of fault of the people who were supposed to be helping to find her, the police, while the family did everything they could to find her. How was she found and what details do we know? Listen to find out.  Donate to the National Indigenous Women's Resource Center:  https://www.niwrc.org/donate  Follow missing persons account on social media, like the one mentioned in today's episode, and continue to educate yourself on what is going on in this country. We are going outside of what is heard all over media, both social and news, to shine a light on lesser known and just as important cases. Remember, these are people too.

I Have Proof That I Did It: The Jessica Ridgeway Case

On this episode of TCWM we discuss the Jessica Ridgeway case. A request from a listener, Kaley or @kaleplants on Instagram, awhile back. We talk about Jessica's untimely death in regards to her killer, Austin Sigg, admitting that he did it. This case is local to us here in Colorado, but happened about 10 years ago now. Big trigger warning on this case guys, there is a lot of sensitive material discussed and just want y’all to be aware of that. In this episode CJ listens to the entire 17 minute 911 phone call between the responder, the killer, and his mother then gives her thoughts on it. There is a link to the call below. If you or someone you know is struggling with their mental health please do not be afraid to reach out for help. This resource is a great place to start: https://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/find-help 911 Phone Call: https://soundcloud.com/denverpost/911-call-from-austin-siggs Our episodes now release on Mondays!
