Truth

You will hear people say things like, “truth is relative” or “there’s no such thing as absolute truth.” But God’s Word tells a very different story. Jesus said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32). He did not say a truth. He said the truth. So what is truth according to God? Let’s take a look at six biblical principles that help us understand how God defines it.

Building a Marriage That Lasts

Imagine waking up in the middle of the night to a screaming fire alarm. Smoke fills the air and you see an orange glow. In that moment, your priorities become crystal clear. You do not worry about the furniture or the television; you focus on the people who matter most and get them to safety. A fire alarm launches you into purposeful action. But what if your marriage is on fire and you do not hear the alarm? Most marriages do not collapse overnight. They smolder slowly from a spark of selfishness or an ember of neglect. While we are busy with life, the fire spreads until the relationship we thought was secure is barely standing. The good news is that God loves you too much to let your marriage burn down without first sounding an alarm. He shows you what to do when you hear it, calling you to the purposeful action that can save and rebuild your home.

Times of Transition in the Family

Leaving a child at their college dorm for the first time is a moment filled with a mix of pride, sadness, and a flood of memories. It feels like just yesterday you were running alongside their bike, holding on, promising you were right there. Then comes the moment you have to let go, not to hurt them, but to help them grow. That is what so many of life’s transitions feel like. One minute, everything is steady, and the next, it feels like the training wheels have come off for the very first time. When life feels off-balance, we need more than just a calendar of seasons; we need a compass for our soul. The Bible teaches that God has a time for everything, for every gain and every grief (Ecclesiastes 3:1). But it also gives us this anchor in Psalm 31:14–15: “But I trust in You, LORD; I say, ‘You are my God.’ My times are in Your hands.” Transitions are not signs of God’s absence; they are invitations for deeper trust. God does not just see your transitions, He sovereignly walks with you through them.
