For so many reasons, being a "geek" in 2024 kind of sucks. Yes, some legacy franchises like Star Wars are in tatters right now. But mostly, it’s because of some parts of the fandom and the media using the things we’ve loved for much of our lives as a blunt instrument to "own" the other side. I guess they’re tired of spending over $100 million on shows that don’t perform and don’t move merchandise. Imagine that?
