The Whispering Shadows

Every town hides a story it doesn’t want you to hear… and tonight, you’re about to hear one of the darkest. In the small, forgotten town of Eldridge Hollow, whispers tell of the Whitmore estate — a crumbling Victorian mansion where shadows move on their own and a piano plays without a hand to touch it. They say the last owner vanished, leaving nothing but the echo of her laughter drifting through the empty halls. Most stay far away. But Amelia isn’t like most. On a night when the air feels unnaturally still, Amelia feels an unshakable pull toward the mansion. The moment she crosses the threshold, the house closes in around her. The scent of mildew, the creak of the floorboards, the cold that sinks into her bones — everything warns her to turn back. But curiosity drives her deeper. Every room is a snapshot of a forgotten past: tattered curtains swaying in a draft, broken furniture scattered across the floor, portraits with eyes that seem to follow her every move. And in the center of it all, a grand piano sits in silence… until it doesn’t. A haunting melody spills into the air, drawing Amelia closer. The keys feel icy under her fingertips — and that’s when she hears it.  "Play with me…" From that moment, the shadows begin to move. Footsteps echo down the hall. A woman emerges from the darkness, her eyes glowing with an unnatural light, her voice sweet yet laced with malice: "Why have you come here?" What Amelia doesn’t yet realize is that the house isn’t empty. It’s hungry. And tonight… it’s chosen her. The darkness wraps around her, cold and unrelenting. The whispers grow louder: "Join us… forever." In a last desperate act, Amelia slams her hands on the piano keys, the chaotic sound tearing through the silence. But it may already be too late. Because this house doesn’t just keep memories — it keeps souls. When the night is over, the Whitmore estate stands quiet once more. The shadows retreat. The halls fall silent. But the piano plays on, and if you listen closely, you might hear a new voice among the whispers:  "Play with me…"
