for when the present feels unbearable but you don’t want to wish your life away. as a new mother moving through fear, sadness, and uncertainty, i explore a realization that changed the way i understand my own healing journey: you are not defined by what happens to you, but by what you repeatedly choose - especially in the moments you feel most powerless. this conversation isn’t about toxic positivity or forcing yourself to “think better.” it’s about something far more honest and psychologically true: the way your identity, nervous system, and sense of self are shaped by what you allow close to you. you don’t have to escape your life to change your experience of it. you can feel everything fully while still choosing what gets to define you.
