Nadine—Spreading Awareness | Cervical Insufficiency + Infant Loss due to NEC

My guest, Nadine, lost her beautiful son, George, in the NICU due to necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), a life-threatening gastrointestinal condition that primarily affects premature babies and can cause severe inflammation and tissue death in the intestines. In this episode, Nadine shares her journey from the joy of discovering she was pregnant after a long battle with infertility to receiving a diagnosis of a short cervix that led to George's premature birth at 25 weeks. She opens up about her experience in the NICU, the challenges her family faced during George's hospitalization, and the difficult circumstances surrounding his passing. Nadine also discusses the incredible work she is doing to raise awareness about NEC in honor of George's memory, and the steps she is taking to support other grieving families.

My guest, Ariana, has experienced four pregnancy losses, the most recent being an ectopic pregnancy. Cecilia —Short but Powerful | Perinatal death due to HIE

My guest, Cecilia, lost her beautiful daughter, Amelia due to Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE)—a birth injury caused by prolonged oxygen deprivation and reduced blood flow to the brain at birth. In this episode, she shares the story of her loss following a relatively normal pregnancy, the bereavement support she received after she had Amelia, and how she continues to honor her daughter’s legacy through her work as a birth and postnatal doula. Shanaya — Always in our Hearts | Termination For Medical Reasons (TFMR) at 23 Weeks

In December 2025, my guest Shanaya and her husband learned during their routine twenty-week ultrasound that their baby had Sacrococcygeal Teratoma (SCT), a congenital tumor located at the base of the tailbone. After much deliberation with their medical team, they made the incredibly difficult decision to terminate the pregnancy for medical reasons. In this episode, Shanaya walks us through the circumstances surrounding the loss of her son and shares what her healing journey has looked like as she navigates life after loss. Leigh — The Most Beautiful Baby | Second-Trimester Loss at 21 Weeks

Leigh lost her beautiful son, Zion, at 21 weeks in October 2022. In this episode, she walks us through the circumstances surrounding her loss, how she has learned to live with the grief over the past few years, and the advice she has for other loss mums navigating this unimaginable experience. One of my favourite parts of this interview was seeing her face light up as she spoke about seeing Zion for the first time and describing how proud she is to call him her son.
