What's That Smell - Benefits of Scent work

Dogs love to sniff and lots of owners are finding that this organized scent work is a great opportunity to bond with their dog and also create a fun activity for the owner and dog alike.   Scent work teaches your dog to identify a variety of essential oils, such as birch, anise and clove and stimulates them mentally as well as physically.  In this episode, Jen Lichtblau talks to us about the benefits of scent work and how it has really helped her and Prancer (@oldtownprancer) bond.   As Jen points out, scent work can be done in any size space, indoors or outdoors, is great for young and old dogs, and is an activity that even dogs who have mobility issues may be able to enjoy.  The popularity of scent work has taken off in recent years and there are plenty of opportunities to participate in competition.  Regardless of whether you want to become a scent work competitor or are just looking for a fun activity to do with your dog, you won't want to miss this episode.Â
