What's up fam! Welcome back to another episode of The Faithful Pursuit Podcast! On this special episode, I share my battle with depression from the past few years. Depression is a major issue in our society and is even a controversial topic in Christian circles. Is it a chemical imbalance? Is it from a lack of faith and trust? Did I do something wrong? Why do I feel like this? Can Christians have depression? Am I less of a Christian because I am depressed? How can God love me if I am still broken? These thoughts spiraled around in my head, bringing me to a really dark place. I wanted to hide in my darkness and shame. I couldn't see a way out. I thought my life was over. Maybe you've experienced this before. But God... God used medication to help me. He sat in the deepest, darkest pit with me. He showed me love and grace and mercy. He suffered with me. And He pulled me out of that pit. Satan wants us to hide in the darkness. To sit in our brokenness all alone. But God calls us to bring our brokenness to the light. To expose it. Sharing your struggles and seeking help is key to the healing process. I hope this encourages you to know that you are not alone and that Jesus is with you in the suffering, and he WILL bring you out of it!
