Fleeing the battle raging at the University, Shem initiates an inter-dimensional jump through time and space. When they emerge, Adamah and Shem find themselves on the planet of Skelter, a prison/college for radical thinkers. There they encounter the Singularity Reason who reveals to them how close their journey is to its goal. With just stars between her and The Hands of Hypatia, Adamah must face her final reckoning and accept her place in the universe. Act 3: The Ballad of Aurora Borealis

Safely stowed, Adamah wakes up to find herself aboard the Pragma Perdu, a sleek pirate ship captained by her own mother, Aurora Borealis. When she confronts her mother about abandoning her all those years ago, the memories come flooding back and Adamah learns that there are things in this universe far beyond her comprehension. Will Adamah be able to come to terms with her mother’s complicated history? And when she discovers that the life she’s been leading has been constructed around her, will she be willing to risk taking her fight back to the University, even if it means destroying everything she knows and holds dear? With no way to get home and surrounded by enemies, Adamah must find the one person in the universe who can get her the answers she needs, and the one person she never expected to see again. Someone is haunting Adamah Borealis’ memories, plaguing her with terrible visions of the home she lost. Unfortunately for her she has a report to submit for her University research job in three hours, which she hasn’t even started. But when a mysterious benefactor enlists her services, Adamah and her companion Shem must journey to the furthest reaches of the galaxy for answers. Overseen by the sinister Woman with No Face, Adamah and Shem are thrust into a plot that they don’t fully understand, but surely one that will shake the universe to its core.  Adamah must uncover secrets and seek out old allies so that she may answer the question that rings in her thoughts: Where are the Hands of Hypatia?
