How LEM Products Lead in Safety Identification with Tom Wells

Tom Wells, Vice President of Manufacturing at LEM Products, Inc., spoke with Tyler Kern about LEM’s offerings which service the entire U.S. Wells joined LEM over twenty years ago when he began college. “I’ve experienced running equipment all the way up to the processing of higher echelon decisions,” Wells said.
LEM Products assist power grid companies by providing durable, marking identification products. “If there are any type of new building grids that need to be prepared, we’re in on those bidding projects out there so that we can provide the most cost-effective solutions,” Wells said. And the goal is for bottom-line savings for the end consumer.
Safety identification plays a critical role in many different industries and applications. LEM offerings include a wide range of customizable products, from warning labels and tags to safety signs and quality control labels. Proper safety identification is no small matter, and Wells said LEM takes a lead role in those efforts always to ensure safety. “Our main focus is to make sure that those high hazard areas are taken very seriously.”
Due to these products' environments, durability is essential for every LEM product. They spend a lot of effort and research to ensure the right materials get used for the proper product application. "Whether they're non-conductive, whether they last twenty years outdoors, or a specification from a customer, and that material isn't available, we can pivot and find something that is more robust or suit the application,” Wells said.
Customer service is what drives the LEM team. “We are always seeking out communications and trying to come up with the result that a customer wants after and before,” Wells said in working on specific customer project needs. And when a particular industry or market creates a new requirement or regulation, LEM seeks to provide a product that’s even better than the standard.
