episode EP. 60 - - - EXECUTION: Can I Make It Out With No Scars? cover

EP. 60 - - - EXECUTION: Can I Make It Out With No Scars?

Something that was drilled into our heads as a young adult was that if you are not executing with precision with your learning, development or growth then you would fall behind. The thought of falling behind was something that hung over some of our heads like a rain cloud that we could not shake. Fear plagued our minds that we were always late or not where we were supposed to be in life. Why was that? Well maybe you were allowing yourself to continuously think about all the ways you could fall behind, what would happen if you did, and how would you ever live with the consequences of digging yourself out of that hole. From another perspective you could have allowed the plague of thoughts to keep you stuck in a perpetual loop of go-go-go, this stemming from the idea that if you are always making moves than there is no room for you to be left behind because you are taking every opportunity to look and feel busy no matter how productive you are or are not in reality. Executing in the big moments is something that everybody at the end of the day wants to be able to rise up to the challenge of, the difference is those who are looking for those moments and those who look to avoid them. If you are always looking for that opportunity to be superman in front of an audience, then what does that say about how you view the rest of the world and from a different perspective what validation are you in need of?  Saddle up with the gang as Zack, Derry, and Jeff look to tackle how they have battled with the execution of their life, work, and growth. Join the guys on this adventure into the world Execution, why do we ask if you can make it out with no scars? May be a bold statement to say but have you ever met someone who could honestly say that they do not have 1 battle scar from life itself? Mentally, physically, or emotionally? How many of the guy's scars will we find out about during this next exciting installment of the Dismount Podcast? ============================================================== The Dismount Squad creates 6 questions to discuss on each episode. Everyone in the episode was given these questions prior to the episode recording. The squad individually takes time to journal on each of these questions. The conversations are authentic, raw and deep.  Episode 60  Questions/Thought Sparkers:  1. When was the first time you realized, no one was coming to save you? How did that change the way you approached your goals? 2. What does execution look like when motivation is gone and discipline is the only thing left?  3. Have you ever burned yourself out by trying to execute through force instead of strategy? What did that teach you? 4. How do you personally stay aligned with your vision when progress feels invisible and no one is checking in on you? 5. Is execution about control, surrender, or trust? How has your answer to that changed over time? 6. If execution is the quiet promise you keep to yourself, what promise are you currently holding the line for? Even when it feels lonely. ============================================================== WANT TO JOIN IN THE CONVERSATION WITH US?  Join the DISMOUNT Podcast Discord ... link: https://discord.gg/y96ABbWnsJ  Where the conversation never ends at all hours of the day.  We have a separate page for every episode we record in our Discord Follow this link to find the DISMOUNT Server: https://discord.gg/y96ABbWnsJ  SMASH that SUBSCRIBE BUTTON and ride along with us on this journey!  Follow Dismount on YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok:  YT: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClPMuSnSbC4tGSYcbqbeTfwt  IG: https://www.instagram.com/dismountcast  TW: https://twitter.com/dismountcast  TT: https://www.tiktok.com/@dismountcast TT: https://www.tiktok.com/@d

EP. 59 - - - ACCEPTANCE: How Do I Come To Terms With Myself?

Taking ownership for the actions of myself might not be as easy as it seems. Especially when you do not want to face the things or actions that you have committed. How do you finally look yourself in the mirror and find self-love? How do you walk out of a life where you constantly beat yourself up with shame? Ride along with the squad as they share how they have made strides to fully love themselves. Can the squad accept that this conversation will share some very serious darkness that they have been able to rise from like a phoenix from the ashes? ============================================================== The Dismount Squad creates 6 questions to discuss on each episode. Everyone in the episode was given these questions prior to the episode recording. The squad individually takes time to journal on each of these questions. The conversations are authentic, raw and deep.  Episode 59  Questions/Thought Sparkers:  1. What’s one part of yourself or your past that you struggled the most to accept? What did it take to finally face it? 2. Do you remember the moment you realized self-criticism wasn’t making you better but rather just making you smaller? What changed after that? 3. How do you know the difference between taking responsibility and beating yourself up? Where have you fallen into the trap of shame? 4. What tools, practices, or people have helped you begin to shift from self-hate to self-healing? 5. When you look in the mirror today, who do you see? How different is that reflection from the version of you who was still stuck in self-rejection? 6. If full self-acceptance is a journey, not a destination, what’s one truth you’ve accepted lately? How has it set you free? ============================================================== WANT TO JOIN IN THE CONVERSATION WITH US?  Join the DISMOUNT Podcast Discord ... link: https://discord.gg/y96ABbWnsJ  Where the conversation never ends at all hours of the day.  We have a separate page for every episode we record in our Discord Follow this link to find the DISMOUNT Server: https://discord.gg/y96ABbWnsJ  SMASH that SUBSCRIBE BUTTON and ride along with us on this journey!  Follow Dismount on YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok:  YT: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClPMuSnSbC4tGSYcbqbeTfwt  IG: https://www.instagram.com/dismountcast  TW: https://twitter.com/dismountcast  TT: https://www.tiktok.com/@dismountcast TT: https://www.tiktok.com/@dismountcast

episode EP. 58 - - - WANTS and NEEDS: Are They Really Different? cover

EP. 58 - - - WANTS and NEEDS: Are They Really Different?

I want it…no I need it. What actually is the difference between them? How do you determine what are your essential needs versus what are things that you want and feel like you cannot live without? When you have hobbies that bring you joy, and they are things that also are good for your mind, body, or soul...how do you classify those as wants because they are not essential to making it to tomorrow? Why would it even matter to wake up tomorrow if you were always putting off your wants to the back burner? How do you keep showing up tomorrow when you are put in a tough life predicament that is forcing you to focus on survival over happiness? Saddle up as the squad sets off on a journey in this discussion to find the happy balance between doing things for themselves while making sure they have all their basic needs met. Oh, wait we forgot to mention how bills and life expenses play a factor into that survival thing, you know all those things that we have to make sure are covered because of the world we live in that is way too capitalistic for comfort sometimes. The squad has a tough challenge on this one, how will they respond. What is most important to them as individuals but also people who have others counting on them to provide at times. =============================================================================== The Dismount Squad creates 6 questions to discuss on each episode. Everyone in the episode was given these questions prior to the episode recording. The squad individually takes time to journal on each of these questions. The conversations are authentic, raw and deep.  Episode 58 Questions/Thought Sparkers: 1. Can you remember a time when you thought you wanted something only to later realize it was actually a deep need you had not acknowledged? 2. How do you personally define the difference between a want and a need? Who taught you how to draw that line? 3. When life gets hard, what’s the first “want” that disappears from your routine? How does its absence affect your well-being? 4. Is it possible that JOY, PLAY, or CREATIVITY, the things we often label as “wants” are actually essential for survival in a meaningful way? 5. How do financial obligations and capitalism pressure you to prioritize needs over wants? How do you resist or work with that system? 6. If you could design a life where your core needs and most important wants worked together, what would that balance look like? What would need to change? ============================================================================== WANT TO JOIN IN THE CONVERSATION WITH US?  Join the DISMOUNT Podcast Discord ... link: https://discord.gg/y96ABbWnsJ  Where the conversation never ends at all hours of the day.  We have a separate page for every episode we record in our Discord Follow this link to find the DISMOUNT Server: https://discord.gg/y96ABbWnsJ  SMASH that SUBSCRIBE BUTTON and ride along with us on this journey!  Follow Dismount on YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok:  YT: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClPMuSnSbC4tGSYcbqbeTfwt  IG: https://www.instagram.com/dismountcast  TW: https://twitter.com/dismountcast  TT: https://www.tiktok.com/@dismountcast TT: https://www.tiktok.com/@dismountcast

episode EP. 57 - - - BOUNDARIES: How Do I Show Love From A Distance? cover

EP. 57 - - - BOUNDARIES: How Do I Show Love From A Distance?

Build a wall but wait...are you building that to keep something in or keep something out? This is an age-old question that even goes back to structures like the Great Wall of China. Which way is that wall actually facing and what was the purpose behind it? Can building boundaries be something that is beneficial for both parties involved? Can I build boundaries with grace and not brute force? Are there times when brute force is the only option to protect what matters to you? Join the squad as they share the building plans that they have used to create healthy boundaries that have led to positive outcomes. For the squad though there may not have always been successful projects, ride along as the great, good, bad and ugly are shared from the journeys of creating boundaries. ========================================================================= The Dismount Squad creates 6 questions to discuss on each episode. Everyone in the episode was given these questions prior to the episode recording. The squad individually takes time to journal on each of these questions. The conversations are authentic, raw and deep.  Episode 57 Questions/Thought Sparkers:  1. When you think about the boundaries you’ve built before were they designed to PROTECT your peace or to PUNISH someone else? How can you tell the difference? 2. Can you recall a time when setting a boundary actually strengthened a relationship, even if it was painful at first? 3. What’s one boundary you wish you had set sooner and what did it cost you to not have it in place? 4. How do you balance compassion for others with the responsibility to honor your own emotional space? Where do you draw that line? 5. Do you think it’s possible to love someone deeply and still need space from them? How do you express that kind of love without guilt? 6. What’s one “building material”, metaphorically, you now use to construct boundaries with more grace, clarity, or strength than you did in the past? =============================================================================== WANT TO JOIN IN THE CONVERSATION WITH US?

EP. 56 - - - DEADLINES: My Dog Ate My Homework Only Works Once?

I'm late! I'm late! What now? In this thought-provoking episode, "DEADLINES: My Dog Ate My Homework Only Works Once?", the group saddles up to explore our complex relationship with time, accountability, and progress. Together, we dive into the psychology behind deadlines — why they matter, how they shape our habits, and what they reveal about our priorities. We unpack the shift from merely surviving within the constraints of time to intentionally using it as a tool for creativity and growth. Through humor and honesty, the conversation challenges the idea of productivity as a race against the clock, inviting listeners to redefine what it means to use time wisely. Tune in to discover how setting clear deadlines can help you build momentum, focus your energy, and transform the way you create, grow, and live.  =============================================================================== The Dismount Squad creates 6 questions to discuss on each episode. Everyone in the episode was given these questions prior to the episode recording. The squad individually takes time to journal on each of these questions. The conversations are authentic, raw and deep.  Episode 56 Questions/Thought Sparkers:  1. How do deadlines affect your creativity? Do they motivate you or make you freeze up? 2. Can you remember a time when missing a deadline taught you something important about yourself?  Your limits, your patterns, or your priorities? 3. Do you think our culture glorifies busyness and deadlines too much? How has that shaped the way you measure success or productivity? 4. When you’re working toward a big goal, how do you distinguish between healthy accountability and self-punishment? 5. What does “using time as a tool” actually look like for you? How has that changed how you approach work, rest, or growth? 6. If tomorrow had no deadlines at all, how would you choose to spend your time? What does that reveal about what really matters to you? =============================================================================== WANT TO JOIN IN THE CONVERSATION WITH US?
