Les mer The music and dementia podcast

Released on 10th October 2025, The Gift is the debut album from DJ-turned-artist F Monday — a deeply personal and experimental AI music concept. The first single, Maybe I’m Gay, is out now. All available on the major streaming and download platforms including Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, Tidal, and Deezer.  Just search "Maybe I'm gay" by F Monday. All proceeds from 'The Gift' are donated to Alzheimer's Research UK. Dementia is the UK’s leading cause of death, with 982,000 people currently affected — a number expected to rise to 1.4 million by 2040. Globally, the World Health Organisation estimates 57 million people live with dementia, with nearly 10 million new cases every year. Described as protest pop and soul with singer-songwriter sensibilities, layered with Latin and bossa nova influences, The Gift moves through protest, grief, joy, and self-acceptance. It weaves multiple genres into a journey about identity: being queer, being vulnerable, and being human. From the bold protest-soul anthem Maybe I’m Gay, to the revelatory Hello God :-), the aching intimacy of the title track The Gift, the playful EDM-lite Not Just Friends, and the soaring pop-rock of Feel, the album captures the emotional spectrum of a life lived openly. Created in collaboration with AI tools, The Gift is both an experiment in technology and an act of self-discovery. It’s a reminder that music can be a mirror — and sometimes the greatest gift is learning to see yourself clearly in it.

Episode 3: Making 'Just Love Me' - a song about living with dementia

This is a podcast about music and dementia, and specifically it is about making an album of music raising awareness and funds for dementia research. In this episode I talk about a song I nervously wrote about the dementia lived experience. I say nervously because although I cared for two close relatives with dementia, I've never actually lived it. In this podcast I share what I've learned and and how I tried to turn that into a song, sung from the point of view of someone with dementia. I also cover the important progress being made in research, and the fact that we are close to finding the cure. Nevertheless dementia remains one of the biggest causes of death in the UK today. The album, The Gift, is released on all platforms on 10th October 2025. The first track 'Maybe I'm gay' by F Monday, is out now.

Episode 1: Making The Gift - a new protest pop album out October 10 raising money for Alzheimer's Research UK

Released on 10th October 2025, 'The Gift' is unique in many ways: it's a debut album from a new artist, and a platform to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's Research UK. The first single, Maybe I’m gay is out now.  Available on all streaming and download platforms including Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, Tidal, and Deezer.  Described as an album of protest pop, soul with singer songwriter vibes, and hints of latin and bossa nova, 'The Gift' is the debut album from DJ-turned-artist F Monday — a deeply personal and experimental AI music concept. It moves through protest, grief, joy, and self-acceptance, weaving multiple musical genres to take listeners on a journey about identity: being queer, being vulnerable, and being human.  All proceeds from 'The Gift' are in aid of the charity, Alzheimer’s Research UK. It is estimated that 982,000 people are living with dementia in the UK today, rising to 1.4 million by 2040. In 2022 it was the leading cause of death in the UK. Globally the World Health Organisation estimates that 57 million people have dementia. New cases are occurring at the rate of nearly 10 million each year, which breaks down to about one new case every 3.2 seconds. In the UK, the estimated economic impact of dementia in 2024 was £42.5 billion, a figure that is expected to more than double by 2040.  From the bold protest-soul anthem Maybe I’m Gay, to the revelatory Hello God :-), and the aching intimacy of The Gift (the title track), to the playful EDM-lite Not Just Friends and the pop rock Feel The Love, the album explores the emotional spectrum of a life lived openly.  Created through collaboration with AI tools, The Gift is both an experiment in technology and an act of self-discovery. It’s a reminder that music can be a mirror — and sometimes the greatest gift is learning to see yourself clearly in it. Talking about the new single 'Maybe I'm gay' F Monday said: "It captures my experience as a cis gay man — feeling different, othered, and at times, excluded, even within the LGBTQIA+ community. Over time, I found self-acceptance by recognising that many of those feelings are universal — and that being queer is universal too." Every play or download gets one small step closer to a cure for dementia. Thank you.

Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
