Episode 25: Kamal Kaur Bhabhi Case

The Murder of Kanchan Kumari (Kamal Kaur Bhabhi): When Moral Policing Turned Deadly Kanchan Kumari, popularly known online as Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, was a social media influencer from Ludhiana, Punjab. Through bold and controversial content on Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook, she built a large following and earned her livelihood in the digital space. But visibility came with a cost. While some viewers supported her work, others subjected her to online abuse, threats, and moral policing — criticising her content, her identity, and even her right to exist online under the name “Kaur.” In June 2025, Kanchan Kumari was lured to Bathinda under the pretext of a brand promotion. Days later, her decomposed body was discovered in a parked car near a hospital. The post-mortem report confirmed death due to strangulation. Soon after her murder, videos surfaced online in which a radical leader openly justified her killing, blamed her content, and issued warnings to other influencers — raising serious questions about religious extremism, online harassment, and violence against women creators. In this episode, we explore: Narrated by: Shilpi & SonamMusic by: Josh Chowdhuri DISCLAIMER This episode discusses real events involving violence, sexual assault, and death. Episode 24: New Jersey Double Homicide

In March 2017, Sasikala Narra and her six-year-old son Anish were brutally murdered inside their home in New Jersey, United States.   There were no signs of forced entry. No immediate suspects. And no answers.   What began as an ordinary weekday afternoon ended in a crime that would haunt two families across continents. For nearly eight years, the case remained unresolved — labelled a cold case while suspicion, speculation, and grief filled the silence left behind by stalled investigations.   During those years, questions mounted:   In December 2025, the case resurfaced with a dramatic development. Authorities formally charged Nazeer Hameed, an Indian national and IT professional with links to the family, after advanced DNA testing connected him to the crime scene.   But the filing of charges raised as many questions as it answered.   If the alleged conflict was personal, why were the victims a woman and a child? Was this an act of revenge, obsession, or something far more calculated? And is accountability the same as closure?   In this episode of Vicious Tales, we explore:   This is not just a story about murder. It is a story about delay, doubt, and the devastating cost of waiting for justice.   Narrated by: Shilpi & SonamMusic by: Josh Chowdhuri   DISCLAIMER   This episode discusses real events involving violence, homicide, and the death of a child. Episode 23: The Bride Of The Corpse

Nanded Caste Murder: The Girl Who Married Her Lover’s Corpse In November 2025, a quiet love story in Maharashtra’s Nanded district took a devastating and unimaginable turn.Twenty-one-year-old Aanchal Mamidwar and Saksham Tate had known each other for years. Their connection grew gradually, quietly, and in the kind of environment where relationships form out of familiarity rather than chance. But their bond existed under the shadow of a reality that continues to control countless young lives in India — caste. As Aanchal’s family became aware of their deepening relationship, pressure intensified around her. Allegations later emerged that her brother Himesh Mamidwar took her to a police station, pushing her to file a false complaint against Saksham. She refused. What happened afterward, according to her, changed the course of everything. On the night of 27 November, Saksham was attacked in a brutal confrontation allegedly led by Aanchal’s family members — a confrontation that cost him his life. What unfolded the next morning shook the entire country:Aanchal walked into Saksham’s home, performed rituals beside his body, and symbolically married him — using his blood as sindoor — in an act of grief, defiance, and love that refused to be erased by violence. In this episode, we explore the events that led to that night, the emotional and social pressures surrounding inter-caste relationships, the legal consequences faced by Aanchal’s family, and the deep, painful questions this case raises about caste-based honour violence in modern India. As investigators revisited the Talwar home, overlooked details began to surface — details that would raise more questions than answers and push the investigation in an entirely new direction. Part 2 traces how the case expanded beyond the bedroom, beyond the first assumptions, and into a maze of negligence, bias, and speculation that would haunt the investigation for years. Episode 21: Arushi Talwar Case-Part 1

On the morning of 16 May 2008, a seemingly ordinary day in Noida turned into one of the most debated and emotionally fraught cases in India’s recent history. Thirteen-year-old Aarushi Talwar was found dead in her bedroom — a discovery that shattered a family and sparked a media storm that would last for years. But the hours leading up to that tragic morning were filled with ordinary, everyday moments:a new camera gifted nine days before her birthday, dinner with her parents, a final photo taken at 10:10 pm, and a quiet home settling in for the night. What followed was chaos — neighbours crowding the flat, a compromised crime scene, shifting theories, contradictory statements, and a police investigation that stumbled right from the beginning. In this episode, we revisit: Part 1 focuses on Aarushi, the events inside the Talwar home, and the investigative chaos that unfolded immediately after her death.Part 2 will pick up from the shocking twist that changed the entire direction of the case — coming next week.
