WakeUp Daily Bible Study
Good morning and welcome to Wake Up with Pastor Scot and Pastor Holly. Today we’re in Matthew 6:22, and this episode is all about what you choose to look at. Jesus says that the eye is the lamp of the body. If your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. That means what you focus on affects how you feel, how you think, and how you experience life. Pastor Scot and Pastor Holly talk about how this applies to every relationship in life. In marriage, friendship, family, work, and even how you see yourself, you will find what you are looking for. If you keep looking for what is wrong, what is missing, and what is frustrating, your heart will fill with darkness, irritation, and disappointment. But if you start looking for what is good, redeemable, and valuable, your heart begins to fill with light, gratitude, and peace. This message is also a reminder that many struggles in relationships come down to focus. When people were dating, they usually saw only the good in each other. They were excited, full of love, and quick to give grace. But over time, if they stop looking at the good and start focusing only on flaws, the relationship begins to suffer. The same person may still have so many amazing qualities, but they get lost under wrong focus. Pastor Scot and Pastor Holly also point out that sometimes looking for the good means seeing past behavior and finding compassion. Maybe the person frustrating you is carrying pain, insecurity, disappointment, or hurt. Maybe they cannot even see the good in themselves right now. And sometimes looking for light also means seeing the good that God has placed inside of you, instead of comparing yourself to someone else and focusing only on what you do not have. If you want more joy, more peace, and stronger relationships, start by changing what you are looking at. Look for the good. Look for the gold. Look for the light. You will find what you are searching for. Partner with us at wakeuptv.tv Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe.
