Beskrivelse

Father Anthony with Tony and Cristina gather to discuss the goings on, and people in the Parish. Father greets everyone and mentions a few articles he’s come across, relevant to today, that he may review and discuss during the show.  Father leads us in prayer and afterwards turns to Bishop Mutsaerts’ Open Letter to Leo XIV on synodality, which was published in The Catholic Herald (August 14, 2026).  Father Anthony reads from the letter and with the group adds commentary and discussion highlighting the key points made that are critical in the dialogue in today’s time.  After the final break, Father wraps up the show with the gospel from this coming Sunday as it connects it to the open letter, emphasizing what we need to take away from it all; lead Christian lives and uphold the Catholic Church.  The letter can be found at The Catholic Herald at their website.   St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish [https://ststanschurch.org/https://thecatholicherald.com/ [https://thecatholicherald.com/]

Episode #4895 Confronting Modernism This Day

Father Koys takes us on another “brain wrinkling” walk as he discusses the importance of educating young Catholics on the numerous heresies of the Church and how to confront them in our modern day. Father Koys dives in particular to the Heresy of Modernism and the challenge of explaining the negative part of Modernism to today’s youth. He explains Modernism as matter of Novelty vs Tradition, novelty comes and goes but tradition is timeless, both new and old. Father Koys further goes into the aspect of Agnosticism in the Modernist heresy, on the notion that religion is not found outside us but comes from within and that the Church understands man’s reason is flawed and subject to a higher intellect than himself.   St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish [https://ststanschurch.org/]

He reflects on the harshness of the words in Matthew 15:21-28, explaining the importance of the harshness of these words as Jesus works to establish the new covenant setting an example for the disciples.  Father Anthony asks us, “When the world sees us, do they see that we are Catholic?  They discuss what that means and for us to be conscious of whether we are truly leading Christian lives as were called to as Catholics.   St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish [https://ststanschurch.org/]
