Adam's Daily Bread
This is part of a year long reading of the Bible chronologically in a harmonized format. Psalms 1:1 - 2:12 - Psalm 1 contrasts the blessed way of the righteous who delight in God's law with the perishing wicked. - Psalm 2 warns nations against plotting against the Lord's anointed king whom God installs on Zion. Psalms 15:1-5 - The psalm asks who may dwell in God's holy tent and describes the person of integrity. - Such a one speaks truth, honors others, avoids harm, and remains steadfast in commitments. Psalms 23:1 - 24:10 - Psalm 23 portrays the Lord as shepherd providing rest, guidance, and protection even in death's shadow. - Psalm 24 celebrates God's ownership of the earth and calls for pure worship as the King of glory enters. Psalms 47:1-9 - All peoples are called to clap and shout joyfully as God ascends amid shouts of triumph. - God reigns over the nations from his holy throne and the shields of the earth belong to him. Luke 24:13-35 - Two disciples discuss recent events on the road to Emmaus when the unrecognized Jesus joins them. - Jesus explains the scriptures concerning himself then is revealed at the breaking of bread before vanishing.
