Remember way back in April of 2022 when we launched Episode 40: Write Your Own Booker's Story? Well its time for part II! If you're not familiar with Booker's, its a cask strength Bourbon from our friends over at Jim Beam. Each expression is launched quarterly and newer bottles come in a wooden box with a small card with a written story that explains how they named the batch and what barrels make up the blend. Now imagine if you could write your own story for a batch of Booker's - that's exactly what we do on this episode. Grab a pour and get ready for the chaos! Write Your Own Booker's Story is a fan favorite and our favorite too! We had so much fun writing not one, not two, but three Booker's stories as Mike, Devin, and even Katie Mitchell join in on the fun. At the end of the episode we review a reaaaaaallllyyy special Booker's batch that means the world to us. We certainly poke fun of Booker's on the show, but absolutely love the brand and the whiskies in the Jim Beam portfolio. Go get some Booker's Bourbon! Cheers! Welcome back to All Things Whiskey Podcast! On this episode Hosts Mike Outcalt and Devin Mitchell sit down with special guest Nico Meyer the co-founder of Por Lo Bueno Mezcal. Yes, we are a Whiskey podcast, but we always love exploring new expressions and were thoroughly impressed with the entire lineup of Por Lo Bueno Mezcals. If you're a whiskey enthusiast and particularly someone who enjoys Tequila and/or Peated Scotch, then it is absolute worthwhile exploring Mezcal and learning about the wonderful world of agave spirits. On this episode we learn a TON about the Por Lo Bueno process to making their Mezcals, the story behind the brand, and get to sample a wide variety of their expressions including: * Espadín: 6-8 year old agave plants, a classic entry level mezcal * Cuixe: 10-12 year old agave plants, bright flavors and a gin drinker's favorite * Cirial: 10-12 year old agave plants, bright savory and vegetal notes * Tobalá: 10-12 year old agave plants, a bourbon drinker's favorite * Pechuga: the only bottle in the country, suspended in the still with botanicals and meats * Tepextate: 20-30 year old agave plants, simply an outstanding mezcal Be sure to check out Po Lo Bueno (https://www.porlobueno.com/) and raise a glass for all good things! Welcome back to All Things Whiskey Podcast! On this episode Hosts Mike Outcalt and Devin Mitchel sit down with special guests from American Woman Spirits Company out of Steamboat Colorado to discuss their lineup of whiskies and tequilas. Join us for a great interview with Owner John Lupori and Part-Owner, Brand Ambassador, and Advisory Board Member Anne Hutchison . We discuss how they created their unique bottle (shaped like a woman) which was inspired by Greek and Roman sculptures to be a work of art (and it is!) and to celebrate the American Woman, Americana, women in whiskey, and women empowerment. We dive into their whiskey lineup including a 92 proof core product, a cask strength offering, and a special release rye all while discussing where the whiskey comes from, where its aged, their unique mash bill, and proprietary barrel charring process. American Woman Spirits Company also believes in giving back and is donating 1% of gross profits to woman's associations and has begun working with NAWA: the National Association of Women Artists. The whiskey is delicious and they've got tequilas coming soon too! Don't miss this interview! Cheers and keep drinkin' tasty whiskies!
