Morning Mantra: "Every day brings a choice; to practice stress or to practice peace." The first step in practicing peace is to figure out what is causing your stress.  Is it a need to be perfect? Is it the inability to forgive someone?  Maybe it's the fear over missed deadlines. Or maybe it's your health or financial situation. Whatever it is, you can make it a practice to find peace in your day.  The secret is to practice mindfulness. The soul always knows how to heal itself, the challenge is to quiet the mind. The mind is the one that creates the stress through your thoughts about any given situation. You can learn to observe your thoughts rather than embody them.  To recognize that it's your thoughts about that need for perfection, deadline, or whatever, that is causing your stress.   A quiet mind doesn't mean there will be no thoughts, it means they will be on the surface and your peaceful self will be within observing. But we don’t.  Believing tomorrow is a guarantee, is the biggest mistake we make. Not seizing every day like the gift that it is, is the biggest risk we take.  Waste time wisely.  Time spent in rest, joy, company and kindness is never wasted. But doom scrolling, arguing, ignoring things that matter, or not appreciating what is  in your life are time suckers. As for the things you want to do but are scared to try, just do it. You won’t regret the things you tried and failed at, but you will regret a life spent waiting to do it. So I took responsibility for how I chose to show up.  I learned to recognize the cycles I was stuck in.  I learned to recognize when I didn’t do right by myself.  I became aware of the thoughts I had on repeat.  I stepped out of my victim mentality.  I called myself out on my own BS.  I was done letting myself down. There will be a time where things are aligned and you will feel free to just be.
