Job 11:1–16 - Zophar, Job's third friend, rebukes Job for speaking so boldly about his suffering. He insists that God's wisdom is beyond human understanding and suggests that Job deserves even harsher punishment than he has received. Zophar urges Job to repent, turn away from sin, and seek God. He promises that if Job does so, God will restore him, remove his shame, and give him hope, security, and peace.

Job 4:7–11 Eliphaz tells Job that those who live righteously are not destroyed, while those who do evil eventually face the consequences of their actions. He compares the wicked to strong lions whose power and influence eventually come to an end. Job 5:17–27 Eliphaz encourages Job to accept God's discipline, saying that God corrects those He loves. He assures Job that God can heal, protect, provide, and restore those who trust Him. Eliphaz concludes that following God's wisdom leads to security, peace, and a blessed life.

Matthew 12:1–12 - Jesus' disciples pick grain on the Sabbath and are criticized by the Pharisees. Jesus teaches that mercy matters more than strict rules and says He is Lord of the Sabbath. He then heals a man, showing that doing good is always right, even on the Sabbath.

Sunday, June 7th 2026

Job 2:11–3:13a - Job's friends come and sit with him in silence because his suffering is so severe. After seven days, Job finally speaks and curses the day he was born. He expresses deep anguish and wishes he had never existed rather than endure such pain.

In this passage, the apostle Paul the Apostle explains that love is the greatest gift of all. He describes love as patient, kind, humble, and enduring. Paul teaches that talents, knowledge, and achievements mean nothing without love. The chapter ends by saying that faith, hope, and love remain, but the greatest of these is love.
