Welcome back to another episode of your Hidden Talent Podcast. Thanks for joining me for another inspiring interview, Today... I sit down with a very inspiring person, her name is Derya Cil Eryn and she just recently became the Second Turkish woman to ever summit the highest mountain in South America, Aconcagua in Argentina. Derya has summited two of the Seven Summits, which are comprised of the highest mountains on each of the seven continents of Earth. Derya and her team are on the mission to conquer all Seven Summits. She's already Summited Denali in Alaska, North America's highest summit at 20,310 ft or 6.19km above sea level, and just recently Aconcagua which is 22,841 ft or 6.962km. When you get the rare opportunity to talk to people who have the courage and discipline to go after the goals like this, goals that include summiting the highest mountains on earth, with a list like Everest, Aconcagua, Denali, Kilimanjaro ... I just want to dive deep into their minds to understand their thought processes, their philosophy to life, their mindset when preparing for these kinds of physical feats and how they deal with adversity and their approach to life.... and this is what we do in today's episode. And this is what this podcast is all about - about finding people who are chasing those inspiring goals and sharing their stories and lessons to inspire you to do the same. Now when Derya isn't 22,000 ft above sea level, she is the head coach at @CrossFit416 in Toronto and I know first hand Derya is a beast physically, but she also has a wealth of wisdom from a spiritual side ... and Derya shares with us how we can find balance in mind body and soul as we live our busy lives.... it's all about inner peace in the middle of the storm. I hope you all enjoy this one, and without further delay I want to introduce to the show, Derya Cil Eryn.

Hello and welcome back to another episode of your Hidden Talent Podcast. I was on a new level of joy during and after recording this interview! You know when someone asks you, how are you feeling today? Do you ever respond with yeah great! even though you know that's a complete lie? Where you actually, in reality, you're feeling a little lost? be it in your career, or with certain relationships... or you feel like you're running a little low in inspiration, maybe the creativity and passion for the things you once loved is no longer there? or maybe your energy levels are low or up and down like a roller coaster, and just feeling frustrated in general? The best way I can describe it is that you're just feeling out of alignment... and when we find ourselves in this place, the mission then becomes how can we get ourselves back? firing on all cylinders? And this is what today's episode is all about. Our next guest is someone who has dedicated his life to creating and sharing positive content and getting us all back in alignment with our best selves. Hello everyone, welcome back to another episode of Your Hidden Talent Podcast. I recently had the pleasure of catching up with Tiffany Mika, who is the author of the new book Focus: How to Reach Your Potential In Sports Business & Life. In this episode, we dive into the key lessons from this book (which is available right now on Amazon) and what I appreciate about this conversation is Tiffany's story. Tiffany shares how she recognized the pain from past mistakes in her tennis career and used this as fuel to dedicate her life to teaching young, female athletes how to focus at any given moment and get the competitive edge and most importantly how to win in competitions. Tiffany is a high-performance and mindset coach who works specifically with teenage girls and women to develop ultimate belief, supreme confidence and go after their dreams. In this episode She will practically teach you how you can turn past failures around, which she calls "The Comeback" - through systems, strategies, and a specific mindset that Tiffany has developed through her tennis career and has helped her clients to develop a relentless belief in themselves, to show up everyday with unwavering discipline, how to strive for excellence and how to have unshakeable courage. Tiffany is super practical and understands that self-belief alone will not get you where you need to go, so we discuss the principles of how we can develop the skills, discipline, patience and mental stamina to fuel you on your journey. If you would like to connect with Tiffany check out her website https://tiffany-mika.com/ or search for the Tiffany Mika Podcast and be sure to grab a copy of her new Book Focus: How to Reach Your Potential In Sports Business & Life available right now on Amazon.

One thing I’m growing even more fascinated about is the concept of the athlete mindset and its applications to work and life. I believe there is a lot to learn from athletes, their approach to training and competition in high-pressure situations and the underlying pursuit of constant growth and evolution… would it not make sense to adopt the same traits and apply them to business and work? I mean, work, business, school all ultra-competitive environments … and in 2019 with more information readily available to anyone, the competition only gets more fierce…. What sets the best apart from the competition is mindset. The ability to process tonnes of information at any given time, assess a situation in a systematic way and to make the best decision quickly, to anticipate what the market or the competition is going to do, to objectively assess your own skills, strengths, weaknesses and then to come up with a strategy to make yourself better at your craft... So how can we apply the athlete mindset to business, at work, at school and use it to fuel us through our days, weeks, months, years to take consistent effort & to stay in that zone where we are being productive, reading, meditating, tracking and measuring our goals, keeping a clean environment, saving and investing my money ... You know all the things that we know we SHOULD be doing but don't. What is their mindset? And selfishly I’m curious as to WHY I feel days with low energy and low drive, and what causes it… and on the flip side what causes those days where I’m productive, in the zone, consistent and disciplined. The other day I came across this documentary on YouTube … and let’s just say, when I watched it I was inspired to dedicate a podcast episode to this guy… I watched it and I was fired up. Anyone who does CrossFit knows who this guy is, but for anyone who doesn’t know him, in my opinion … he is the GOAT of CrossFit (Greatest of All-Time) … he has dominated the sport of CrossFit since his rookie season in 2014 when he came 2nd in his first-ever CrossFit Games appearance, then 2nd in 2015 followed by 4 years back to back wins from 2016 to 2019 and in a super dominant fashion … I thought he would be perfect for this podcast, not just because he has dominated the sport of CrossFit over the past 6-7 years, but because of his beast-like mindset to training and to life. I’m talking about non-other than the goat Matt Fraser. I was a fan of Matt Fraser before I watched this documentary, then after it… became even more of a fan because his mindset because he is all about laser-like focus, work ethic and an armor-plated mind that performs better under pressure and just doesn’t give up.... Where most people would give up and choose to take the easy road, Fraser takes those moments to train himself to become even stronger. Shoutout to NFS Sports and Bodybuilding.com for putting this documentary together and if you want to check it out I’ve put the link in the notes below, otherwise, just search “Matt Fraser Full Documentary in Youtube”. They did an awesome job putting this documentary together and their work has inspired this episode, so be sure to go check out the full documentary on YouTube and give them some love by liking their video and subscribing. Matt Fraser is known for his motto: Hard Work Pays Off, & I think he even created or made the #HWPO a thing … which has become his guiding philosophy toward training, towards discipline, towards objective self-assessment & growth and learning… its all encompassed in one sentence … and the guy lives it, which is what I respect so much about him and why I decided to dedicate a whole episode to this philosophy and to give you my take on it and how you can apply the same principles to work, life, business, school… to whatever journey you’re on. Hard Work Pays Off - I hope you enjoy this one! Link to documentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4pp8praRlk&t=1308s Find me on Instagram @bobbydanga @your_hidden_talent_podcast
