Working, Hope, and Spiritual Disciplines

In this episode, Seth and Tj discuss the classes for May 24, 2016. The high school transitions to a new study on 1 Thessalonians, while the middle school emphasizes the importance of spiritual disciplines. High School Themes: -View your current work or environment as a mission field. -Live a productive life as you wait on the Lord's return. -Everyone is a missionary. Middle School Theme: -Spiritual disciplines can seem monotonous at times, however, it is worth it to push through those times. -Pick a discipline you've never tried, and try it this week. -The disciplines bring us closer to God, but they are not the means by which we are saved. Strength Through Weakness | Transformation

Middle School Theme/Notes: -Christ calls us to the transformed life, but is full transformation really what we want? -Reflections on the signs of the New Covenant High School Theme/Notes: -Ending of 2 Corinthians -Paul emphasizes the boasting in his weaknesses, not his strengths. -Is God even willing to change the things you've asked him to change? 5/10/2026 Will You Betray Your Friend for the Fraud/Communion

In this episode, Seth and Tj discuss the content of high school and middle school classes for Sunday, May 10th. The High School Theme: --2 Corinthians 11 --Paul defends his reputation to those he serves. --He mentions that the Corinthians are quick to accept foolish and false teachers, but are seemingly quick to be angry at him. --He defends his apostleship--not to be arrogant--to remind them that what he wants for them is the ultimate good, and to beware of those who would make the Christians believe Paul is somehow their enemy. The Middle School Theme: --What occupies your mind when you take the communion? --The Bible tells us that the communion is more than a simple reminder that Jesus died; it is an invitation to something deeper and a reminder that you are a part of something larger. 5/3/2026 Character and Signs of Faith

This episode deals with two themes: --High school discusses what our character says about our confession. Do you profess Christ with your mouth but profess something else with your actions? Paul talks about this exact thing in 2 Corinthians 10. --Middle school discusses the signs of the New Covenant. In this episode, Seth describes that the sign of baptism is much deeper than many suppose. Introducing A-Way for the Day

In this episode, I introduce the purpose and format of the podcast. Here's a summary: Each week our youth ministry team will do 3 things: 1. Provide an overview of the weekly content we are teaching in Middle and High School Classes 2. Provide a "Passenger Seat" Segment where we provide you with 3 questions to discuss on your drive 3. Prayer for your week. The show is designed for traveling youth families who may feel disconnected from church activities and youth group events because they have to be at ball games, recitals, and other obligations. We hope this will serve you and allow you to feel connected while you're "Away for the day."
