Unboxing the Bilingual Flipbook Proofs

Come behind the scenes with me as I open the first test copies of my bilingual flipbook format. These samples combine English and Brazilian Portuguese in one reversible book, letting readers flip between languages instead of comparing side-by-side text. I walk through what worked, what needs adjusting, and why this experiment has me so excited for the future of Space and Time magazine. The verdict? Bilingual flipbooks are going to be a thing. The Follow-Up Live: Banishing Tech Gremlins

After the first live refused to end on my phone, I came back on desktop to make sure the stream was actually stopped and to give everyone another quick look at the Portuguese-English flipbook sample. This test copy shows the format I’m developing for Space and Time: Portuguese on one side, English on the other, with the book flipping in the middle so readers can enjoy either language as its own reading experience. There are still a few layout details to fix, but the experiment is working, and I’m hoping to bring this bilingual flipbook format to the July issue of Space and Time. Issue 150 Release Today! (Redo podcast)

Let’s try this again. The tech gremlins are really active lately. Thank you for your patience with the slower rollout of this issue. Our cover artist was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome mid-cover creation. Ironically, since it’s the “Rest as Resistance” issue, we really had to walk the talk and learn some patience. Additionally, the print edition’s availability was delayed due to a national server issue. We’re still trying to track down print availability, so if you see it in your favorite stores please send us the link so we can update it. If you request this edition at your libraries and bookstores it makes it more likely they will stock it. This issue is the best yet. The stories are phenomenal. The poetry is brilliant. They work together in tandem to create a literary symphony. It has been an honor to compile this.
