Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for August 20, 2026

In this Daily Devotion for August 20, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 78:16-18, where God's people, freshly given water from solid rock, turn right around and test Him again, demanding the food they craved. More evidence did not create more trust. The problem was never a lack of proof. It was a heart unwilling to believe. This devotion names that same pattern in every one of us, hearts that slip into demanding rather than trusting, even with far more evidence than water from a rock, the whole record of Jesus, His life, death, and resurrection. But Jesus did not repeat this failure. Tested by the devil in His own wilderness, He trusted His Father completely, succeeding exactly where this generation failed. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, His perfect trust offered to us as a gift covering our own unbelief. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper He strengthens that trust again, giving His true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins. Where your heart slips into demanding instead of believing, rest instead in what He has already given, freely, in Christ. Subscribe for weekly sermons and Daily Devotions. Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for August 19, 2026

In this Daily Devotion for August 19, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 78:13-15, the exodus remembered again, God dividing the sea, providing cloud and fire, and splitting rock for water in the wilderness, meeting every need of His people by His hand alone. This devotion follows Scripture's own connection of that sea to Baptism. The same water that judged Pharaoh's army carried God's people safely through to freedom. Your own Baptism carries that same pattern, drowning the old sinful self and bringing you safely through to new life, a promise that holds you every day that follows. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, given freely through Christ's finished work rather than earned. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and just as He feeds us through water in Baptism, He continues to feed us in the Lord's Supper, giving His true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins. When you remember your Baptism, think of this sea, divided by God's own hand. He judged what needed to be judged and carried you safely through, into a life that belongs entirely to Him. Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for August 18, 2026

In this Daily Devotion for August 18, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 78:10-12, where disobedience turns out not to be the first problem. Forgetting came first, quietly and gradually, as the vivid wonders God had performed slowly faded from memory until walking away no longer felt like walking away from much at all. This devotion calls us to examine our own memory. What has God done in your life that you have quietly stopped remembering? More than that, what has He done for the whole world in Jesus, His life, death, and resurrection, that gets crowded out by ordinary days? That is where true grace, forgiveness, and salvation are found, accomplished once for all and never dependent on how well we remember it. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper He refreshes that memory again and again, giving His true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins. Guard your memory carefully. Return often to what God has done, especially to Jesus, crucified and risen for you. Remembering is a discipline worth protecting every day. Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for August 17, 2026

In this Daily Devotion for August 17, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 78:7-9, where teaching the faith is meant to set our hope in God, not merely fill our heads with facts. The warning follows quickly, the Ephraimites, fully armed and equipped, still turned back on the day of battle because their hearts were not steadfast. This devotion points to the one who never turned back. Jesus, facing far greater weapons than any bow, walked steadily toward the cross, trusting His Father completely even to death. Where our hearts prove unsteady again and again, His steadfastness stood in our place, offering that same steady trust as a gift. There we find true grace, forgiveness, and salvation, secured through His finished work rather than our own knowledge or effort. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper He strengthens that hope again, giving His true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins. Examine where your hope actually rests today. Knowledge alone will not save you. Set your hope in God, resting on the steadfast faithfulness of Jesus, who never turned back for you. Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for August 16, 2026

In this Daily Devotion for August 16, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 78:4-6, God's firm command that parents teach the next generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, so the chain of faith continues unbroken, even to children not yet born. This devotion applies that command to every parent, grandparent, and godparent today. Teaching a child who Jesus is, what He did on the cross, and what His resurrection means is not optional. It is one of the clearest responsibilities God gives to those raising the next generation. The greatest wonder to pass on is His own Son, given for our sins, where true grace, forgiveness, and salvation are found. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper that same gift is placed into the hands of each new generation, His true body and blood given for the forgiveness of sins. Do not hide what you know. Tell the children in your life about the wonders the Lord has done, especially His own Son given for their sins. The chain is meant to continue through you, starting today.
