In this episode we interview, Larry Whitley, Assistant General Counsel of Real Estate Investments for a Fortune 100 Company! For those unfamiliar with Larry, he's a native of the City of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a proud Rufus King High School graduate. 👦🏾 . He went on to earn a degree in Marketing from Marquette University, followed by a law degree from Marquette University Law School. 👨🏾‍🎓 . Larry’s journey is deeply rooted in his commitment to his profession and community. He embodies the power of combining personal experience with professional excellence. 🏋🏾‍♂️ . In his current role, Larry represents his company in various real estate investment activities, such as permanent and/or construction financing and joint ventures. He also plays a key role in his company’s Sustained Action for Racial Equality Task Force (SARE) and Impact Investment Committee, advocating for increased access to capital for black and brown communities.🤾🏾‍♂️ . Jay is director of Development for the Scannell Properties Southern California office, responsible for site acquisition, due diligence, entitlements, construction management, marketing, leasing and dispositions for ground-up development projects throughout Southern California. Prior to joining Scannell Properties, Jay was a senior development manager for Panattoni Development Company and was an office tenant rep broker with JLL in Orange County. Prior to his career in commercial real estate, Jay served six years in the U.S. Navy in support of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom as a supply officer in logistics/supply chain management. Jay is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy where he earned a Bachelor of Science with Merit in Economics and was a member of the Division I Varsity Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Teams. He earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Irvine, Master of Science in Construction Management from Louisiana State University and a Master of Science in International Real Estate from Florida International University.
