We have been exploring the life of David, but today, I want to focus on a remarkable character in his life: Jonathan. This message is all about the kind of friendship that Jonathan exemplified—a friendship that goes beyond mere acquaintance and dives deep into loyalty, sacrifice, and love. Jonathan's soul was knit to David's, and he loved him as his own. This is the kind of friendship we should aspire to cultivate in our lives.  In a world where friendships can often be superficial, Jonathan's relationship with David teaches us the importance of being selfless and vulnerable. He stripped away his royal identity and gave David his armor, recognizing God's hand on David's life. This act of surrender is a powerful reminder that true friendship requires us to lay down our pride and our own ambitions for the sake of others.  As we navigate our own friendships, let’s ask ourselves: Are we willing to be a Jonathan? Are we ready to support our friends in their calling, even if it means sacrificing our own status? This message encourages us to build a community where we lift each other up, just as Jonathan did for David.  So, if you’re feeling alone or discouraged, remember that you are not meant to walk this journey by yourself. God has placed people in your life to be your Jonathan, and you can be that for someone else too. The Story of Jacob is to relatable to ALL OF US! The reason I say this is because at some point, you have been a deceiver to yourself or to someone else. My generation grew up in the age of social media, where we often present a filtered version of our lives. We post our highlights, not our low times, leading to a culture of comparison and deception. We often forget that deception isn't just for 'bad people'; it's something we all engage in. Jacob's story in the Bible illustrates this perfectly. He manipulated outcomes to achieve what God had already promised him, showing us that even when we try to control our lives, God remains sovereign. His plans prevail despite our flaws. Transformation takes time, and like Jacob, we may walk away with a limp, a reminder of our struggles and dependence on God. It's time to stop hiding behind filters and embrace our real selves, trusting in God's plan for our lives. Are you willing to surrender control and trust God's timing, even if it means walking away with a limp?

I discovered the power of faith in my everyday work. In today's message, I share how faith and works intertwine in our lives, especially in the context of our daily responsibilities. As I reflect on my journey, I realize that while we often focus on the tangible results of our labor, it is the unseen faith that truly drives our purpose and fulfillment. I recount a moment when I felt compelled to pray for a stranger at Lowe's, illustrating how small acts of faith can have profound impacts. This experience reminded me that our work is not just about the tasks we complete but also about the faith we exhibit in our interactions with others. I emphasize the importance of balancing our work commitments with our personal lives, particularly the sacrifices we make for our families. It's crucial to recognize that while hard work is valued, it should not overshadow our relationships and the faith that guides us. God Forms What Has No Shape and Fills What Is Empty

As we step into 2025, I want to encourage you to trust in God. This year, I believe God is calling us to surrender our lives to Him. Trust is the word for 2025. It means letting go of our worries and allowing God to take control. I want you to look at your life and ask yourself, 'Am I allowing God to finish the work He started in me?' God is the only one who can fill our emptiness and make us whole. We often try to fill ourselves with busyness or material things, but true fulfillment comes from God alone. As we dive into the book of Genesis, we see that God created the heavens and the earth, and everything reflects His glory. This year, I want you to recognize that God is the master builder of your life. He has a plan for you, and He will not leave you formless or empty. So, as we embark on this new year, let’s commit to trusting God with every aspect of our lives. Let’s allow Him to fill us with His presence and guide us in our journey. Remember, everything we have comes from Him, and when we acknowledge that, it leads us to worship Him. Let’s make 2025 a year of trust and surrender to God’s will. Amen.
