GAP Ep 23_ Justice

Send us a text [https://www.buzzsprout.com/twilio/text_messages/2418910/open_sms] Justice is a term used for what is right or “as it should be.” Justice is one of God’s attributes and flows out of His holiness. Justice and righteousness are often used synonymously in the Bible. Since righteousness is the quality or character of being right or just, it is another attribute of God and incorporates both His justice and holiness. We cannot begin to understand God’s justice unless we first understand sin. Sin is lawlessness (1 John 3:4 [https://www.bibleref.com/1-John/3/1-John-3-4.html]) and iniquity (Daniel 9:4-5 [https://www.bibleref.com/Daniel/9/Daniel-9-4.html]; Micah 2:1 [https://www.bibleref.com/Micah/2/Micah-2-1.html]; James 3:6 [https://www.bibleref.com/James/3/James-3-6.html]). It embodies everything contrary to God’s holy nature and is offensive to Him. Thus, sin is a crime against God, and justice demands a penalty of death and separation from Him for it But God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth to pay that penalty for us (Romans 5:8-11 [https://www.bibleref.com/Romans/5/Romans-5-8.html]; 6:23 [https://www.bibleref.com/Romans/6/Romans-6-23.html]) and made salvation available to all who believe in His name (John 1:12 [https://www.bibleref.com/John/1/John-1-12.html]; 3:15-17 [https://www.bibleref.com/John/3/John-3-15.html]; 20:31 [https://www.bibleref.com/John/20/John-20-31.html]).God’s own righteousness is provided as a gift to sinners who accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and is based upon His grace and mercy in response to our faith (Romans 3:23-26 [https://www.bibleref.com/Romans/3/Romans-3-23.html]; Ephesians 2:3-7 [https://www.bibleref.com/Ephesians/2/Ephesians-2-3.html]). His mercy and grace are not in spite of His justice, but because of it. He loved us so much that, despite the fact that our sin demands our death, He sent His Son to be our substitute upon the cross, thus demonstrating that His justice was not violated, but instead satisfied (1 Thessalonians 1:10 [https://www.bibleref.com/1-Thessalonians/1/1-Thessalonians-1-10.html]; 5:9 [https://www.bibleref.com/1-Thessalonians/5/1-Thessalonians-5-9.html]). Having been made in His image (Genesis 1:26-27 [https://www.bibleref.com/Genesis/1/Genesis-1-26.html]), we humans long for moral justice to prevail upon the earth and are outraged when we see injustice happening around us. Why do we seek justice for crimes? It’s in our DNA.As for the future, the book of Revelation reveals the justice of God in all its glory during the end times. When the saints watch the destruction of the earth, their song will be of God’s righteous judgment upon the inhabitants for their ultimate sin of rejecting Him (Revelation 11:16-18 [https://www.bibleref.com/Revelation/11/Revelation-11-16.html]). And as 2 Peter 3:13 [https://www.bibleref.com/2-Peter/3/2-Peter-3-13.html] says, we are promised that someday, when Christ physically reigns on earth, God’s righteous justice will finally be on full display. GAP Ep 22 Love

Send us a text [https://www.buzzsprout.com/twilio/text_messages/2418910/open_sms] LOVE Many words have been written about it, many songs have been sung about it, many fights have happened and many lives were lost because of it.  What a powerful word. LOVE What do you think of when you think of Love? People, family, places, things. well the Gospel has a lot to say about Love as well.  GOD IS LOVE 1 John 4;8 "the one who does not know God does know love for GOD IS LOVE". Without it we are bankrupt 1 Corinthians 13;4 tells us not just what love is but who God is Love is; Patient...Kind...it is not envious...rejoices in the truth...bears all things...believes all things...hopes all things...endures all things Love never ends Love does not envy, is not boastful, it is not arrogant, it is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs. Juan and John dive deeper into John 17;20-26 on how Jesus prayed for us to be disciples that love and grow with others in God's Love.  Reach out to Juan and John through our website at www.gapmm.org. episode GAP Ep 21_Changes cover

GAP Ep 21_Changes

Send us a text [https://www.buzzsprout.com/twilio/text_messages/2418910/open_sms] Change can be one of the most stressful things in life, even when the change is desired. Resistance to change is natural to human nature. In fact, there is a saying in neuroscience that “neurons that fire together, wire together.” This means that the more we do something, the more it becomes not only habit, but biologically ingrained. It helps to explain why change takes so much effort, and why we naturally have a resistance to change. Of course, we know that change is inevitable. We face change as we mature, as our bodies age, and as we interact with the world. We also know that change, in the Christian life, is desirable. In fact, it is God’s plan for us. He makes all things new Resistance to change—perspective is key. We can lessen our resistance to change by keeping a divine perspective on life. God’s work of renewal in us is compared to that of a refiner’s fire [https://www.gotquestions.org/refiners-fire.html] (Zechariah 13:9 [https://www.bibleref.com/Zechariah/13/Zechariah-13-9.html]; Malachi 3:2 [https://www.bibleref.com/Malachi/3/Malachi-3-2.html]; Isaiah 48:10 [https://www.bibleref.com/Isaiah/48/Isaiah-48-10.html]; 1 Peter 1:7 [https://www.bibleref.com/1-Peter/1/1-Peter-1-7.html]) and to a gardener’s pruning shears (John 15:2 [https://www.bibleref.com/John/15/John-15-2.html]). The process of refining or pruning tends to be unpleasant, so we resist. But the outcome of a refiner’s fire is purified precious metal. The result of pruning is a more plentiful crop. If we trust that God is at work through changes and that His desire is to sanctify us, then we may more willingly submit. This perspective is what brought Job peace in Job 23:10 [https://www.bibleref.com/Job/23/Job-23-10.html]. But what about the undesirable changes? We have no control over them, we don’t want them, but they happen anyway. We lose a job or become chronically ill. A friend moves away. A church leader steps down. Our resistance to these types of changes is even more entrenched. The end result of these changes may not be obvious. It is in these times that Romans 8:28 [https://www.bibleref.com/Romans/8/Romans-8-28.html] becomes a firm foundation. We know that God is working all things according to His purpose, and we know that His purpose is always good. So we can trust that He is using even undesirable changes for our benefit. It may be that an illness will draw us closer to God or draw our family closer together. It may be that God has a new calling for a new season of life. Juan and John dig a little into why everything changes and why we adapt so well. We must. Resistance is futile. Reach out to Juan and John through our website at www.gapmm.org. GAP Ep 20 Trust

Send us a text [https://www.buzzsprout.com/twilio/text_messages/2418910/open_sms] Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,  do not rely on your own understanding;  in all your ways know him, and he will make your paths straight. What does it mean to trust God? Why should we trust God and how can we rely on God? These are just a couple questions we will be discussing. We are looking at Proverbs 5 more in depth and learning why we should trust God and are we a person that others can trust? Juan and John today will be looking at the next chapter in Greg Ogden's Discipleship Essentials book and what it means to Trust. Reach out to Juan and John through our website at www.gapmm.org. En fantastisk app med et enormt stort udvalg af spændende podcasts. Podimo formår virkelig at lave godt indhold, der takler de lidt mere svære emner. At der så også er lydbøger oveni til en billig pris, gør at det er blevet min favorit app.
