Vision Sunday 2026

The question Jesus poses resonates throughout: when He returns, will He find faith on earth? This isn't just about belief in our minds but about faith that transforms how we live, work, love, and steward our resources. The African proverb captures it perfectly: when you pray, move your feet. We're being called to a faith that doesn't choose between prayer and action but embraces both with equal passion, knowing that genuine transformation requires us to die to self and live fully for Christ. Grounded in Truth

This powerful message challenges us to examine the foundation upon which we're building our lives by exploring one of Scripture's most confrontational moments: Jesus cleansing the temple. We're confronted with an uncomfortable question that the religious leaders asked Jesus: 'By what authority are you doing these things?' This isn't just ancient history. It's the question we must answer today as we navigate our daily decisions about money, time, relationships, and words. The sermon draws us into the parable of the tenants in Mark 12, where a landlord sends servant after servant to collect what's rightfully his, only to have them beaten and killed. The absurdity of the story mirrors our own resistance to divine authority. Yet at the heart of this message is a beautiful promise: when we recognize Jesus as the cornerstone, measuring every aspect of our lives against His truth rather than our own wisdom, the result is always 'marvelous in our eyes.' We're reminded that Jesus doesn't just want to be acknowledged; He wants authority to enter the temple of our lives and overturn the tables of sin that we've allowed to remain. The choice is ours: will we be like sovereign citizens rejecting authority and ending up bound and led away, or will we build on the cornerstone and experience the marvelous life God intends? Radical Generosity

What if generosity is about so much more than writing a check? This message invites us into a profound exploration of radical generosity as a lifestyle, not just a transaction. Through Psalm 65, we discover three dimensions of God's generous nature: His abundant forgiveness that never runs out, His extravagant creation that provides beauty beyond necessity, and His provision that exceeds our needs. David's psalm was written for the first harvest, a moment of thanksgiving, yet it begins not with crops but with grace. We see that God didn't need to create us, He wasn't lacking anything, yet out of pure generosity He spoke the world into existence and filled it with more stars than we need for navigation, more animals than necessary for survival, and more beauty than function requires. The challenge becomes clear: if our God is generous by nature, shouldn't His people reflect that same DNA? The beautiful tension emerges when we examine Jesus in Matthew 14, grieving His cousin John's death yet still healing the crowds, feeding the 5,000, and then finally retreating to care for His own soul. We're called to navigate between two extremes: hoarding out of fear and burning out from endless giving. True generosity means trusting God enough to give freely while also honoring the Sabbath rest He modeled. Authentic Love

We often use the word 'love' casually in our daily conversations, but do we truly understand what authentic, biblical love means? This message takes us deep into Psalm 145, where David unpacks three transformative aspects of God's love that challenge our cultural definitions. First, we discover that God's love is good to all people, regardless of whether they acknowledge Him or follow His ways. He sends rain on the just and unjust alike, constantly calling even those who have run far from Him. Second, God's love is faithful throughout all circumstances. Even when we're bowed down under heavy burdens and can't see His hand at work, He remains trustworthy in all His promises, providing at the proper time. Finally, God's love makes all things right through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. While we've broken our covenant with God through sin, Jesus stepped into our place, making us righteous before the Father. This isn't just theological knowledge to store away. We're called to live out this same authentic love in our everyday interactions, showing goodness to all people, remaining faithful in our commitments, and even stepping in to make things right when we weren't at fault. When we love this way, we point others directly to the cross and reveal the Father's heart to a world desperately searching for genuine love.
