Faith, Business & Purpose // Episode 49

What does it look like to follow Jesus in business, family, and everyday life?  In this episode, Pastor Randy sits down with longtime Harvest Valley friend Jack Klugh for an honest conversation about faith, purpose, entrepreneurship, and learning to trust God through every season of life.  Jack shares about the early days of Harvest Valley Church, building businesses from a young age, navigating pressure and uncertainty, and learning that success alone does not ultimately satisfy. Throughout the conversation, he talks about identity, calling, living out faith in the marketplace, and the importance of surrounding yourself with godly people.  This episode is both practical and encouraging for anyone trying to balance ambition, family, faith, and purpose while learning to trust God one step at a time.

Faith Through Heartbreak // Episode 48

What do you do when motherhood does not look the way you expected? In this episode, Whitney Leedahl sits down with Andrea Almquist for a deeply honest conversation about motherhood, heartbreak, faith, and trusting God in the middle of the unknown. Andrea shares the story of being pregnant with her fourth child and learning at her 18-week ultrasound that her daughter had hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a severe and life-threatening heart defect. What followed were overwhelming decisions, uncertainty, grief, prayer, and navigating what it looked like to trust God through fear and pain. Throughout the conversation, Andrea opens up about motherhood, suffering, faith, and the ways God met her family in some of their hardest moments. This episode is both heartbreaking and hope-filled, reminding us that God’s presence is real even in seasons we never would have chosen. If you have ever walked through disappointment, uncertainty, loss, or questions about where God is in suffering, this conversation will encourage you.

episode Pentecost // Episode 47 cover

Pentecost // Episode 47

What is Pentecost, and why does it still matter today? In this episode, Pastors Randy and Nate unpack the biblical significance of Pentecost and how it connects the Old Testament, the coming of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2, and the mission of the Church today.  They explore how Pentecost began as the Feast of Weeks, a celebration of firstfruits, harvest, and gratitude before God. They also walk through the powerful connection between Mount Sinai and Acts 2: fire, wind, sound, and the presence of God descending among His people.  This conversation highlights the shift from the Law written on stone to the Spirit written on hearts, the birth of the Church, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on all believers. Randy and Nate discuss how Pentecost is not just about emotional experience, but about empowerment, transformation, intimacy with God, and mission.  They also talk about the marks of a Spirit-filled church: prayer, generosity, joy, fellowship, evangelism, and lives transformed by the presence of God.  Pentecost reminds us that God is not distant. His Spirit dwells within His people, empowers the Church, and continues to draw people into His harvest today.

episode Finding My Identity // Episode 46 cover

Finding My Identity // Episode 46

Who are we really, and why are we here?  In this episode, Pastor Randy sits down with Trevor King for an honest conversation about identity, purpose, and the search for meaning. Raised in the church but feeling disconnected from God personally, Trevor shares what it looked like to go through the motions while searching for identity everywhere else.  From chasing status, independence, achievement, partying, relationships, and different expressions of identity, there was still a lingering feeling that something was missing. Even after exploring success, sexuality, masculinity, and self-definition, fulfillment always seemed just out of reach.  Trevor also speaks openly about feeling hurt and disconnected from church culture while still carrying empathy for people trying to figure out who they are and where they belong.  Then came surrender.  After years of searching and trying to carry life alone, anxiety and stress reached a point where nothing seemed to help. In that place, surrendering to God became the turning point that changed everything.  Now, Trevor’s identity is no longer rooted in status, achievement, or approval, but in being a child of God.  This episode is about searching, wrestling, surrender, and discovering that real transformation only comes through the grace of God and the work of the Holy Spirit.
