Mindfulness isn't something you need to stop your life to do. You don't need to drop everything, pretend you've got all the time in the world, or ignore the things going on around you. Mindfulness is a practice that can lift you up in the midst of the moments of your life, while the moments of your life unfold--and no matter what challenges, opportunities, and joys those moments bring. Since 2005, Mind the Moment has been producing mindfulness content designed to help everyone bring a little bit more mindfulness into their everyday lives. Let us show you how.

episode How do I think about death mindfully? cover

How do I think about death mindfully?

"What do I want to do with this alive, conscious, embodied moment?" Jon thought that "staying focused on the present moment" meant never having to think about death, but Jess has some bad news for him: thinking about the body disintegrating is right in mindfulness's wheelhouse,. Fortunately, there's a way to work yourself up to it, which Jess demonstrates in her not-quite-a-death-meditation meditation. episode Can meditation help me not have the same negative reaction over and over again? cover

Can meditation help me not have the same negative reaction over and over again?

"It’s kind of like respecting the emotion, and using it for information." While Jon is off doing who knows what, Jess sneaks Khalila Gillett in through the side door, and boy, does it work out well. Khalila and Jess used to work together, so they know what it means to navigate tricky office dynamics--here, they address a viewer question about what happens when you keep having the same negative reaction to unreasonable work requests, despite your best efforts to "mindfulness your way through them." Feeling the feels may be the answer, and Khalila leads us in a meditation designed to do just that.
