Monthly Melodies : 2025 Year End Recap
As I sit here and reflect on what this year has been, the one thing I can’t believe is that it all actually happened. To say that i’am grateful and to say that i’m blessed would be an insane understatement. I’m 38 years old, I have tried to go down this path once or twice in my life and have fallen flat on my face all those times, however this year things were different, I allowed myself to take some risks and put in effort in a different capacity and it has paid off in more ways than I could of ever imagined. A few days ago I listened to my 2024 year end mix, and I told myself that I would get more gigs and opportunities next year and that happened way more than I could have even imagined. This year I got to play my first party during WMC which for me was an absolutely INSANE. I have been going to WMC / MMW for over 15 years and have always dreamed about playing at a party and this year it finally happened! It’s a memory that I cherish so much and lives very happily on repeat in my head every day.
Then to be able to throw a party with my friends at Mazuma and form the Collective at the same time was truly something that I have only ever dreamed about. As I sit here and reflect on it, it’s hard not to get emotional. Blessed to have been given these opportunities and blessed to have been given these amazing friends. Blessed to have had such a great year not only musically, but also on some personal levels as well. I was able to start a new Job, and was also blessed to be adding one more member of my family come 2026, my unborn daughter Layla :).
2025 was truly a year that i’ve dreamed about having my whole life, and I thank every single one of you that have listened to one of my mix’s, come out to a show, liked a photo, commented on something, reposted something, and anyone that who talks about us to they’re friends. Everything means the god damn world to me. To feel love for doing the thing that you love is the greatest gift any human could ever receive. I truly can’t wait for you all to see what we have in store for 2026, it’s going to be absolutely insane! I hope that you all have an amazing new years, and that you’re 2025 brought you everything that you had hoped for, and if it didn’t, please keep trucking. Sometimes to get those things you want takes time, sometimes it takes 20 years and sometimes it take 38 years to reach a level of happiness that you didn’t know could be possible. Only advice that I can give you is don’t give up. That is the fastest way to fail.
