This is the Questioning the Normal Podcast with Linda Bonney. For those that don't quite fit into a box, and dare to live a little differently. It is a podcast from normal people, with normal lives. Normal itself, is seen through the eye of the beholder, and greatly filtered through the lens of society, social media, accomplishments and validations. And further to that – it’s almost like we broadly cluster individuals into two groups. Normal and abnormal. The normal people appear to have it together – white picket fence, good careers, seemingly less disrupted by others and happy to stroll along. Then there are the abnormal ones. Often obscure, labelled with heaviness of anxiety, addiction, bipolar, ADHD and other non acceptable traits. Honestly, these traits of both normal and perceived abnormalities are present in almost everybody. For me, I adore bringing together voices from our community in order to develop fundamental conversations for progressive and memorable social change. Encompassing as many voices and welcoming people to celebrate all normals. When we appreciate all aspects as a community and claim ever evolving normal, create your normal, redefine your normal, settle into your normal and continue questioning. That is where the magic begins. This Podcast is where conversations meet, develop and juxtapose. There are no wrong conversations here. It is essential for us to hear all the opinions and be open to as many ideas as possible. Maintain connection within norms instead of breaking and labelling it as obscure. I invite you to act out and express and maybe even find some meaning in your craziness through the stories shared here. I truly desire to see you, hear you and encourage you to accept more intricacies and uniqueness of your normal (and you know what the world may tell you otherwise - -I’m here to listen). Let’s dismantle every forced normal and thoughts of what is going to fit in and start living with less elf doubt and second guessing. It is un rehearsed, unplanned and undeniable nourishing. Afterall….what is normal anyway?
