"It's Not All or Nothing": The Lowdown on Low Supply with Diana Solomon, IBCLC
In this week's episode of SBF, I’m joined by Diana Solomon- an IBCLC who specializes in chronic low milk supply. Y'all, this conversation goes way beyond the basics.
We get into the emotional side of breastfeeding, why language around feeding matters, and how unprepared most of us are walking into postpartum. Diana introduces the terms “mammotypical” and “mammoatypical” to explain how breast type can impact supply. We talk through the reality of triple feeding, what it takes, and how to support your supply without losing yourself in the process.
We also touch on the grief that can come with feeding challenges, and why it deserves to be acknowledged.
If you’ve ever felt like your supply wasn’t enough (even if it actually was), this one’s for you. It’s a really common experience, and it deserves a lot more compassion than most of us get.
