Dead Format Campaign (A MacGuffin Mini)

We here at The MacGuffin Guild want to know if YOU'VE ever wanted to take part in making a movie! If so, then now (and we mean literally RIGHT NOW) is your opportunity to do just that! Our good friend Mike Lombardo, writer and director of the holiday horror feature film “I’m Dreaming of a White Doomsday” and author of the short story anthology “Please Don’t tap on the Glass” is making a new feature film based on one of his short stories, called… DEAD FORMAT. And, in order to make Dead Format come to life, Mike Lombardo needs your help. Leviathan (Ep. 042)

On this episode of the MacGuffin Guild, we’re gonna bring some questionable cargo back to our mining base in the depths of the ocean — in Leviathan. This 1989 Body Horror Sci-Fi Thriller was Directed by George P. Cosmatos and stars Peter Weller, Richard Crenna, Amanda Pays, Daniel Stern, Hector Elizondo, Meg Foster and Ernie Hudson as the arguably cooler Justin Jones.  We're gonna talk some turkey, drink some sea water, and explore whether or not this film is a rip-off. We'll discuss Stan Winston Studios, Robo’s Oreos and witness an Editor’s worst nightmare. We'll discuss Dino Lee the king of white trash, the sad tragedy of Rick Burks, The Colonial Theater Blood Diner Screening and ask the question — who smells like teriyaki? Lord of Illusions (Ep. 040)

On this episode of the MacGuffin Guild, we're going to prepare for the coming… In Lord of Illusions. This 1995 Horror Mystery Thriller was Directed by Clive Barker and stars Scott Bakula, Famke Janssen, Kevin J. O’Connor and Daniel von Bergen.  We're gonna talk about Horror Noir, unknowingly walking under floating vehicles, what’s in Justin’s closet?, how to mislead a ghost by faking your own death, and ask the question, “are you ready for our wisdom?” We'll discuss Scott Bakula’s career, Traci Lords, how Mike altered Pat’s perception of storytelling, ’94 screen savers in cinema, and the tragic story of Daniel von Bergen. This classic 1950 Family Adventure stars Robert Newton, Bobby Driscoll, Basil Sydney, Walter Fitzgerald & Denis O'Dea. Directed by Byron Haskin. We're gonna discuss International Talk Like a Pirate Day, the works and major impact of Byron Haskin, Violence in Disney Movies, Blind Frankenstein and Robert Newton's insane Pop Culture influence. We'll dig into the Tragedy of Bobby Driscoll, The Misfits, Tina Fey's Niece, getting a hearse towed from New York City, comparing punk rockers to pirates and Muppet Penis Jokes. We'll also get into Justin's favorite Pirate movies, we'll spend some time with our good friend Fatt Matt. As well as the WORLD PREMIERE of one of his short stories, inspired by this film.
