Steel City Church exists to help people learn and live the ways of Jesus. Steel City Church began to lay down roots during the summer of 2020 when several families, young professionals, and college students from the Carolinas and Pittsburgh faithfully joined together to form a community committed to learning and living the ways of Jesus. Our community continues to grow as we invite people like you, no matter where you are on your faith journey - skeptic, curious, newly following Jesus, or longtime follower of Jesus - to learn and live with us!

You Can't Rescue Yourself | RESCUE Series - Exodus 2 - July 12

A fluctuating or misguided view of God will always limit your intimacy with Him. So how does God want us to view Him?David Domalski kicks off our summer series through the book of Exodus, RESCUE, by unpacking Exodus 2:23 and the cry of Israel for deliverance from slavery in Egypt. Throughout Scripture, God is remembered again and again as the God who brought His people out of Egypt — and this summer, we're anchoring our view of Him in that same rescuing character. In this message:You need to be rescuedYou can't rescue yourselfThe God who rescues is the only One who introduces true peace to your life"Their cry for rescue from slavery came up to God." — Exodus 2:23Whether you feel the need of rescue today or not, Scripture is clear: everyone needs an ultimate rescue found only in Jesus. Join us all summer as we walk through the Exodus story and discover what it means to see God as Rescuer and ourselves as rescued.Steel City Church exists to help everyday Pittsburgh people learn and live the ways of Jesus every day.

GROW OUT - Owning the Mission - Isaiah 6:1-8 - June 28, 2026

We own God's mission when we are overwhelmed by God's greatness and transformed by God's grace. In this message from Isaiah 6:1-8, Pastor Chris explores what it looks like to move from simply being aware of God's mission to actually owning it. Using Isaiah's encounter with the Lord — seated on His throne, holy and exalted — we see the pattern for mission ownership: seeing the greatness of God, remembering the grace of God, recognizing the need around us, and saying yes to God's sending.Part of our Grow series on learning and living the ways of Jesus, this message closes out our look at the "out" lifestyle — engaging those who are close to us and far from God.Message notes:We own the mission when we see the greatness of GodWe own the mission when we remember the grace of GodWe own the mission when we see the need around usWe own the mission when we say yes to God's sending"Here I am, Lord. Send me." — Isaiah 6:8Steel City Church exists to help everyday Pittsburgh people learn and live the ways of Jesus every day.Join us for Discovery Bible Discussion on Wednesday nights at 6:30pm, or find a community group to get connected.

episode GROW IN - Building Together - Nehemiah 3 & 6:15 - June 21, 2026 cover

GROW IN - Building Together - Nehemiah 3 & 6:15 - June 21, 2026

God's mission moves forward when ordinary people unite and sacrificially take responsibility for their part. Nehemiah 3 might be one of the most overlooked chapters in the Bible — full of unfamiliar names and construction details. But look closer, and it's a picture of God's people at their best: priests, goldsmiths, perfumers, merchants, and families all rebuilding Jerusalem's wall, each taking responsibility for their own section. Not because one person did everything, but because everyone did something. In just 52 days, the wall was finished. Chris Richards unpacks Nehemiah 3:1-24 and 6:15 to show us four ways God's mission advances today — and what it looks like for us to stop spectating and start building. In this message: 1. God's mission advances when we belong to something bigger than ourselves 2. God's mission advances when ordinary people step into extraordinary purpose 3. God's mission advances when we take responsibility for where God has planted us 4. God's mission advances when we give sacrificially for a greater purpose "The wall was completed in fifty-two days." — Nehemiah 6:15 Steel City Church doesn't need more spectators. We need builders who belong, serve, steward, and sacrifice — owners who see themselves as responsible for the mission. Where and how will you own your part?

episode Breaking Down the Dam of Unbelief | Grow Series | Pastor Chris Richards cover

Breaking Down the Dam of Unbelief | Grow Series | Pastor Chris Richards

What's actually holding you back from a real, powerful connection with God? In this opening message of the Grow series, Pastor Chris Richards digs into Matthew 13:53–58 — the moment Jesus returns to his hometown of Nazareth and is met not with wonder, but with rejection. And the result? He did few miracles there because of their unbelief. The greatest obstacle to enjoying connection with God is not God's absence. It's our unbelief. But unbelief rarely looks like outright atheism. It hides behind three very familiar walls: 🔹 Cynicism — asking questions not to understand, but to avoid surrendering 🔹 Familiarity — knowing so much about God that we stop being moved by Him 🔹 Pride — taking offense at Jesus rather than submitting to Him Using Rembrandt's famous 1633 painting Christ in the Storm on the Sea of Galilee, this message asks the most honest question a Christian can face: Which disciple in that boat are you? Unbelief is a dam. But it doesn't have to stay up. 📖 Scriptures: Matthew 13:53–58 | John 3:16 | Philippians 4:19 | Ephesians 3:20 | James 5:16

episode Blessed Are the Persecuted: Faithful When It Costs You | The Happy Life Series cover

Blessed Are the Persecuted: Faithful When It Costs You | The Happy Life Series

Nobody puts "be persecuted" on their vision board. But Jesus ends the Beatitudes with exactly that promise — and calls it the blessed life.In this message from Matthew 5:10–12, Pastor Chris Richards brings the Happy Life Series to a close with a question every follower of Jesus eventually has to answer: Will you choose the Kingdom even if it costs you the approval of the world?Using the opening scene from Cool Runnings as a launching pad, this message confronts the reality that following Jesus is not the wide road of cultural acceptance — it's a narrow road that will eventually put you in direct tension with the world around you. We'll work through what persecution actually is, why it comes, and where it shows up in the most ordinary areas of daily life:🔹 Your time and how you spend it🔹 Your money and how you give it🔹 Your parenting and what you're raising your kids toward🔹 Your sexuality and what you believe about it🔹 Your politics and who actually has your ultimate allegianceAnd we'll look at why the way Christians handle opposition is itself one of the most powerful witnesses the gospel has ever produced. The goal of the Christian life is not cultural acceptance. It's total faithfulness. You are never promised the applause of this world. You are promised a Kingdom.📖 Scriptures: Matthew 5:10–12 | 2 Corinthians 4 | Hebrews 11

En fantastisk app med et enormt stort udvalg af spændende podcasts. Podimo formår virkelig at lave godt indhold, der takler de lidt mere svære emner. At der så også er lydbøger oveni til en billig pris, gør at det er blevet min favorit app.
