#111 – The HIDDEN SKILL That SHAPES Your REALITY

The Hidden Skill Shaping Your Reality | Observation, Bias, and the 3×3 Drill   What if the biggest factor shaping your reality is something you practice every day without realizing it?   In this episode, Marcus Green explores the hidden skill of observation and how your perception determines what opportunities, problems, and possibilities you notice in the world around you.   Marcus explains the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon (also known as frequency bias), where once you become aware of something, you suddenly begin seeing it everywhere. This psychological pattern highlights a powerful truth:   Observation is not passive. It is a skill that shapes your beliefs, decisions, and ultimately your reality.   Through examples, philosophy, and practical exercises, Marcus shows how selective attention, negativity bias, and confirmation bias influence the way people interpret the world.   Drawing on insights from Anaïs Nin, Bob Marley, and Marcus Aurelius, this episode explores how controlling your mindset and observation can dramatically change how you experience life.   Marcus also introduces a practical daily exercise called the 3×3 Drill, designed to train your brain to look for progress, opportunity, and positive contribution.   If you want to lead better, think more clearly, and recognize opportunities others miss, this conversation will give you a powerful mental framework. The 3×3 Drill   Each day, write down:   * Three things that went right * Three opportunities you noticed * Three people who added value to your day   This simple habit helps rewire your observation patterns and strengthens your ability to recognize opportunity and growth.   Timestamps   00:08 Hidden Skill Intro 01:11 Baader Meinhof Explained 02:41 Negativity Bias Example 03:32 Observation Is A Skill 04:27 Quotes That Reframe Reality 05:21 Chaos Creates Opportunity 06:09 Bob Marley On Perception 07:41 From Knowledge To Action 09:29 Observation Identity Loop 10:57 Choose Positive Focus 11:56 Lead With Positive Observation 14:21 Three By Three Drill 16:19 Spot Opportunities Daily 17:28 Closing Challenge   About Marcus Green   Marcus Green is the founder of The Whole Enchilada, a community focused on helping driven individuals build a life of impact across business, wealth, health, relationships, faith, and adventure.   The goal is simple:   Go live life on your terms.   Subscribe for more conversations on leadership, mindset, and designing a life aligned with your values.   #Leadership #Mindset #PersonalDevelopment #SelfMastery #EnchiladaNation

#110 – 3 RULES to change how YOU LEAD YOUR LIFE

LOU HOLTZ’S 3 RULES FOR LIFE AND LEADERSHIP What if living a great life came down to just three simple rules? Legendary coach Lou Holtz often shared three principles that can transform the way you make decisions, lead others, and build meaningful relationships. They are simple. But when applied intentionally, they become a powerful framework for living a life by design. Lou Holtz’s three rules are: 1. Do the right thing 2. Do the best you can 3. Show people you care   In this video, filmed in Maui, I break down how these three principles can guide how you live and lead across the most important areas of life. Business Relationships Faith Finances Health When these ideas are applied through clear values and long-term thinking, they become a roadmap for building a life that wins across all areas. RULE #1: DO THE RIGHT THING Doing the right thing begins with knowing your core values. When your values are clear, decision making becomes much easier because you have a filter to evaluate every opportunity and challenge. This is where second order thinking becomes powerful. Instead of asking only what happens next, you begin asking deeper questions: * What are the long-term consequences of this decision? * Where will this path lead two or three steps down the road? * Will this decision move me closer to the person I want to become?   Thinking this way leads to stronger leadership and better long-term outcomes. Thomas Jefferson once gave advice that captures this idea well: > Swim with the current in style, but stand like a rock in principle. In other words, adapt when needed, but never compromise your principles. RULE #2: DO THE BEST YOU CAN Doing your best does not mean exhausting yourself. It means showing up each day with focused and intentional effort. One powerful way to do this is by replacing your traditional to-do list with a success list. A success list focuses only on the handful of actions that truly move your life and work forward. Instead of trying to accomplish everything, you identify the few priorities that create real progress. This approach creates more clarity, less stress, and better results. RULE #3: SHOW PEOPLE YOU CARE Leadership is not only about results. It is about people. When people feel seen, valued, and appreciated, trust grows. Strong relationships are built when care is communicated consistently through actions such as: * Listening intentionally * Offering encouragement * Recognizing effort * Expressing gratitude   When people know you care about them as individuals, loyalty and collaboration naturally follow. WHY THESE THREE RULES MATTER When combined, these three principles form a powerful leadership framework. Do the right thing creates integrity and direction. Do the best you can ensures focused effort and discipline. Show people you care builds strong and lasting relationships. Together they create a blueprint for living and leading with intention. WATCH THE FULL VIDEO In this video you will learn: * How to filter decisions through your core values * Why second order thinking leads to better long-term decisions * The difference between style and principles * Why doing your best means focused effort, not exhaustion * How a success list can outperform a traditional to-do list * Why communicating care strengthens relationships VIDEO TIMESTAMPS 00:08 Maui Intro and Purpose 00:56 Lou Holtz Three Rules 02:11 Rule One: Do the Right Thing 02:46 Values and Second Order Thinking 04:10 Principles Versus Style 05:03 Rule Two: Do the Best You Can 06:30 Success List Over To Do List 07:10 Rule Three: Show People You Care 08:09 Communicate Care Daily 09:39 Challenge and Closing ABOUT THE WHOLE ENCHILADA The Whole Enchilada is about building a life by design. Too many people focus all their energy on one area of life and watch everything else fall apart. Others chase the idea of work-life balance and end up mediocre at both. There is another way. #109 – Stop Overthinking, Start Moving

THE DISTANCE BETWEEN DECIDING AND DOING You already know what to do. The problem is not information. It is hesitation. The distance between deciding and doing is the single biggest predictor of whether your life becomes extraordinary or ordinary. Not your talent. Not your background. Not even the quality of your decision. It is how fast you move. Most people stay stuck because they keep researching, comparing, and waiting to feel ready. Meanwhile, someone else decides, acts, adjusts, and tries again. The only wrong action is inaction. Intentions do not create results. Execution does. There are two versions of you. The one who knows. The one who acts. Success happens when those two become the same person. So close the gap. Make the call. Start the plan. Have the conversation. Take the step. You deserve the life you want. No one is going to build it for you. It is time to move. Go live life on your terms.

#108 – Better Thinking

If you are working hard but still feel like progress should come easier, this episode of The Whole Enchilada Podcast is for you. In Better Thinking, Marcus shares why success in business and life is not just about effort. It is about learning how to think clearly, slow down, and make better decisions over time. Most people do not fail because they lack information. We live in a world with unlimited access to information. People struggle because they do not know how to organize that information, think strategically under pressure, and make high quality decisions consistently. In this episode, Marcus breaks down 15 powerful mental models that elite leaders and long-term winners use to improve their thinking and results. You will learn: * Why the quality of your life is determined by the quality of your thinking * How to stop making shallow decisions and start solving root problems * Why slowing down is often the fastest way to win long-term * How to avoid predictable mistakes before trying to make great decisions * How better thinking leads to bigger results with less effort Mental models discussed include: * First principles thinking * Second-order thinking * Inversion * Margin of safety * Opportunity cost * Probabilistic thinking * Asymmetric bets * Avoiding foolishness * Emotional regulation * Long-term thinking * Leverage awareness * Identity-based decision making * Environment design This episode is for entrepreneurs, leaders, and high achievers who want: * Better decision-making * Clearer thinking in fast-paced environments * Long-term success without burnout Challenge for you: Do not just work harder. En fantastisk app med et enormt stort udvalg af spændende podcasts. Podimo formår virkelig at lave godt indhold, der takler de lidt mere svære emner. At der så også er lydbøger oveni til en billig pris, gør at det er blevet min favorit app.
