Caroline shares the pain of the abrupt loss of her husband of four years from a death that leaves many unanswered questions. Caroline works in the housekeeping world and services a variety of homes for a multitude of clients along with helping raise their children and sorting out the complexities of running a household. She has been indispensable in the numerous lives of people who are lucky enough to have employed her.  Her journey to citizenship was fraught with challenges and abuses but she survived and is a success she and all who love her celebrate! Tiffany Bailey: parenting does not come with a rule book

On the eighth episode of THE LAST THING I WISHED I SAID, Linda speaks to Tiffany Bailey Baumbach, Marriage and Family Therapist, who practices attachment theory which informs us that our first attachments, normally with our mothers, influences our future relationships throughout life. In addition, Tiffany is a singer & performer in the Los Angeles area.  Tiffany shares the loss of her beloved mother, Salomea (Sally) Sheps Bailey, who battled cancer for eight years, but ultimately lost the fight at 72. She always focused on helping others in her family rather than herself. Professor Janice Robinson misses her Mama Tish

Professor Colette Claire prevented from attending her grandmother's funeral

In commemoration of mental health month this six episode of THE LAST THING I WISHED I SAID podcast addresses beloved family members coping with mental health struggles, raising children, and surviving a quotidian life. Many thanks my guest who was so candid in her conversation based on her devoted love of her late grandmother and mother. On the sixth episode of THE LAST THING I WISHED I SAID, Linda speaks to Colette Claire who teaches at CSUN in the English, Humanities &  Undergraduate Studies departments. In addition, Colette helps run the LAVC Writing Center where she hires and trains tutors. Colette discusses the loss of her beloved grandmother, Carol Redmond, who struggled with mental illness & yet devoted herself to Colette's upbringing with deep love and encouraging intellectual pursuits.  Carol died when  Colette was only ten years old.  She still grieves being prevented from attending her grandmother's funeral.  She has also been  a heavy metal music journalist for over a decade. Elyce Wakerman: discovering her father

On the fifth episode of THE LAST THING I WISHED I SAID, Linda speaks to Elyce Wakerman, author of Father Loss: Daughters Discuss Life, Love, and Why Losing a Dad Means So Much and A Tale of Two Citizens: A Novel (Yucca). Elyce’s father, Hyman Wakerman, died when Elyce was three.  But decades later, after her mother died, Elyce discovered that Hyman had lived another life in Poland, completely unknown to her.
