Cynthia Basinet addresses cyber war and TFGBV at United Nations / UN

October 7, 2024 Special Political and Decolonization Committee (Fourth Committee) Seventy-Eighth Session Implementation of the Declaration of the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples Question of Western Sahara - Technology, facilitated, gender based violence Mr. Chairman Excellencies Distinguished Delegates Ladies and Gentlemen My name is Cynthia Basinet and over 19 years ago garnered a Nobel peace prize nomination for visiting the Western Sahara refugee camps and continuing works for political fair play, reconciliation and reconstruction. (Pause) Now please a moment of silence for the voices tragically and mortifyingly silenced one year ago today. A few days prior, I spoke to this assembly as a gentleman from Morocco stated the situation in Palestine was not the same as the situation in the Western Sahara. And I thought to myself, why would he make this distinction what is about to happen In this past year, while America’s Presidential race plays along with a covert narcissist, we have continued to watch the advancement of big tech and big media, to control the narrative of war We have an industrial censorship complex aiding and abetting industrial military complex Aiding and abetting systemic racism, ageism, destroying creativity, diversity and authenticity Why should AIPAC have so much control over the media We are continually pushed further and further towards the edge where empathy and apathy, love and care are nearly nonexistent. Where women’s rights are on the front line with children right behind once again, paying the price to sell celebrity culture royals brands magazines entertainment at the cost of their displacement and permanent loss of innocence. We are continuing to empower authoritative societies . Giving no voice to the marginalized, the self-determined, the independent And they’ve done this very matter-of-factly, very succinctly Women are standing on the front line of yet another Warzone, the Warzone of technologically, facilitated gender based violence. The level of electronic infiltration 247 into our lives to create content. As in my case, for the rich and famous to remain rich and relatable To alter and erase history. The idea that big tech big corporations big media like Netflix or Disney, both of whom were recently knighted by the Royals for the Unrenumerated use of my intellectual property, my likeness thanks to TFGBV This war on my privacy on my intellectual property rights is trickling down to everyone. They are gaslighting us. They are depowering us into believing they are hero’s When in fact are they are plagiarizing zeros. Our intellectual property is a human right and is not free to create us as indentured servants Our relationships are paying a price Our children are paying the price Western Sahara is paying the price Gaza is paying the price Israel Ukraine Sudan Tigray… We have to find other solutions as We are all facets that make this world a diamond. We are not meant to be kicked to the curb as Morocco has done running to other countries to decide the fate of the Saharwian people. For profit and power. We cannot run behind the backs of the Palestinian while we decide their fate. Who’s next While we are diverted by greed while we are diverted by technology While we are diverted by narcissism Thank you Cynthia Basinet Nobel Peace Prize Nominated Entertainer Pro Saharwian 🖤Activist

Silent! The ramification of white male owned media and Tech on civil rights, ageism systemic racism, women’s rights, intellectual property, privacy and more

In this episode of "The World According to Cynthia," host Cynthia Basinet discusses the issues of systemic racism and ageism in the entertainment industry. Cynthia shares her own experiences with these issues, including having her hard work "sliced and diced" by big tech and rich husbands who should know better. She also discusses the media's lack of moral compass, white male-owned and run media inflicting their vanity on women, and the lack of models who work their way up from obscurity to become critically acclaimed entertainers. Cynthia argues that these issues not only shortchange creativity, but also harm the original creators, and calls for change in the entertainment industry. Key Points: 1- Systemic racism and ageism affect the entire world Electronic overreach and lack of moral compass in white male-owned and run media is a major issue. 2- Cynthia's own experiences of having her hard work stolen and her image appropriated. 3- Short-changing of original creators and lack of representation for minority groups in the industry.
