Just as Jesus silenced the storm in the previous passage (Mark 4), we see in Mark 5 that He is able to silence the defiance of demons and bring peace and healing into the lives of those held under Satan’s power. 24. Ruler of All Nature - Mark 4:33-41

The storms of life are not hypothetical for the Christian, they are real, they are sudden and they shake us to the core. In this passage, we see that the storms of life are opportunities for us to discover that Jesus is not distant but rather he is ever present in the vessel with us to bring us peace. The question is not whether storms will come, but whether we will experience the peace of God in the presence of Jesus – the ruler of all nature in the storm. God’s final revelation is Jesus, and in Jesus are hidden all the treasures of wisdom andknowledge (Colossians 2:3). Throughout the Old Testament, Christ was present, but he was hidden.
