Acerca de Yet another Expat

A short-form comedy podcast for anyone who loves storytelling, news, random facts, absurd headlines and a weekly life rumble. Hosted by me, a usually tired millennial living in Berlin. Each 20–35 min episode is a mix of strange news, everyday chaos, weird science, pop culture tangents, parenting moments, and stories you didn’t ask for but might retell. No relocation guides, no fake guru advice — just quick, sarcastic, and oddly informative takes to make your commute, coffee break, or laundry folding a little more fun. Weird News. Random Stories. Thoughts and storytelling. Give it a try!

E74 - Louvre Heist, Sandwich Revenge & Why I Deleted My Instagram

My grandma always said: a yellow vest and a ladder will get you anywhere. Have you seen China's glass waterslides? Wanna hear how I defended my honour against dirty gloves guy? And why rainy days don't fully suck? Sprinkles on top with tips on how to sleep a baby with a Pilates ball. Lastly, why classic books like '1984' and 'To Kill a Mockingbird' are banned in some schools? And let’s not forget my Instagram take down for being a self-doubting teen. Join me as I dive into these eclectic, self-deprecating musings, unraveling the absurdities of the past week as some AI would say.00:00 Introduction and Setting the Scene 00:45 Mushroom Hunting and Brain Hacks 02:07 Standing Up for Yourself: A Personal Story 06:04 The Louvre Heist: A Modern-Day Robbery 10:57 Parenting Challenges: Baby's First Viruses 15:17 Innovative Hiking and Water Slide Adventures 17:13 Banned Books in the USA 19:48 Confession: The Instagram Follower Fiasco 25:44 Conclusion and Final ThoughtsIG: https://www.instagram.com/yet.another.expat.podcast/ [https://www.instagram.com/yet.another.expat.podcast/]

E73 - Prince Andrew Loses Title, Greece Extends Workdays, Coral Reefs Collapse (ft. 30 Babies)

* What happens when a Duke gives up his title - voluntarily or not? * Can Greece really call it “progress” when workdays stretch to 13 hours? * Is Berlin running out of babies or kindergartens? * What’s it like to be surrounded by thirty tiny humans - and realise one might be smarter than you? * How close are we to losing all coral reefs - and what does “past the tipping point” actually mean? * Could the Amazon rainforest really switch from absorbing carbon to emitting it? * What happens if the Atlantic Ocean’s circulation — the one keeping Europe warm — suddenly stops? * Also, can humans now talk to each other in their dreams? Discover this and much more (ok, maybenot much more) in this weeks episode! 🌀 Sources & links mentioned: * The Guardian – Collapse of a critical Atlantic current is no longer low-likelihood 👉 https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2025/aug/28/collapse-critical-atlantic-current-amoc-no-longer-low-likelihood-study [https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2025/aug/28/collapse-critical-atlantic-current-amoc-no-longer-low-likelihood-study?utm_source=chatgpt.com] * Reuters – Climate tipping points are being crossed, scientists warn ahead of COP30 👉 https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/cop/climate-tipping-points-are-being-crossed-scientists-warn-ahead-cop30-2025-10-12/ [https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/cop/climate-tipping-points-are-being-crossed-scientists-warn-ahead-cop30-2025-10-12/?utm_source=chatgpt.com] * Global Tipping Points Report 2023 — Section on Amazon dieback & biosphere impacts 👉 https://report-2023.global-tipping-points.org/section2/2-tipping-point-impacts/2-2-assessing-impacts-of-earth-system-tipping-points-on-human-societies/2-2-3-impacts-of-biosphere-tipping-points/2-2-3-1-amazon-dieback/ [https://report-2023.global-tipping-points.org/section2/2-tipping-point-impacts/2-2-assessing-impacts-of-earth-system-tipping-points-on-human-societies/2-2-3-impacts-of-biosphere-tipping-points/2-2-3-1-amazon-dieback/?utm_source=chatgpt.com] * The podcast I will be appearing on November - Untold Paths podcast👉https://open.spotify.com/show/1H8c1ECA3ayKQ9W8dXDiSI?si=d5b4f49f5fe1433e [https://open.spotify.com/show/1H8c1ECA3ayKQ9W8dXDiSI?si=d5b4f49f5fe1433e] 📸 Follow along: @yet.another.expat [https://www.instagram.com/yet.another.expat]
