🟨🟦 GUEST RESEARCHER PROFILE- MR. KORFII UEBARI. Mr. Uebari Korfii is a multidisciplinary researcher with over 10 years of experience supporting health research and programmes across Nigeria. His work spans maternal and child health, reproductive medicine, HIV/AIDS, COVID-19, vaccine uptake, mental health, environmental health, and health systems strengthening, with a strong focus on evidence-based research and translating evidence into policy and practice. He holds a Master of Science in Environmental Chemistry from Rivers State University and a Master of Business Administration from Miva Open University, Nigeria. He is currently completing a Master of Public Health at the University of Port Harcourt as well as a PhD in Environmental Chemistry in Rivers State University, Port Harcourt. He also has several public health certificates from the University of Washington through its Global Health E-Learning Program (eDGH), McGill University, Canada, and the Barcelona Institute for Global Health – ISGLOBAL. Mr. Korfii has served as a Principal Investigator and lead researcher on multiple nationally and internationally funded studies. He is the recipient of the Early Career Research Grant from the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH), funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), where he led a mixed-methods study on COVID-19 vaccination uptake, barriers, and facilitators among key populations living with HIV/AIDS in Rivers State, Nigeria. In addition, he has received competitive research and professional development awards from the Royal Society of Chemistry, McGill University, and international global health training programmes. Nicholas Aderinto, M.D. is a physician-scientist and editor whose work in stroke recovery, neurorehabilitation, and translational neuroscience has earned international recognition. He is currently pursuing a Doctoral Program at the University of Utah, where his research focuses on novel neuromodulation strategies to improve functional outcomes in stroke survivors. His work and leadership have made him one of the most visible and influential early-career neuroscientists from Africa contributing to global neurological health. Dr. Aderinto has authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles in leading journals, including The Lancet, Nature, Current Neurology and Neuroscience Reports, Current Treatment Options in Neurology, European Journal of Medical Research, and Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery. His research has been cited more than 2,000 times, with an H-index of 24. According to Elsevier’s SciVal analytics, he ranks among the Top 500 Researchers in all subject areas in Africa (2020–2026). In 2024 and 2025, he was nominated for Wiley’s Research Hero of the Year Award, recognizing scientists whose work demonstrably impacts public health and global research visibility. Wiley also produced a documentary highlighting his contributions to neurorehabilitation in low-resource settings. Dr. Aderinto serves as Topic Editor for Frontiers in Neurology, co-leading the international special issue “Redefining Stroke Recovery: Current Trends and Recent Advances” with collaborators from Harvard, Johns Hopkins, the University of Geneva, and the University of Texas at Austin. He is also an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE.
