Her Take: UNC Sports and More
In Episode 34, “Tar Heels Summer Surge,” I break down another busy week across Carolina Athletics as offseason updates and postseason success continue to overlap. On the football side, I talk about a big QB loss and the Tar Heels adding two 2027 offensive line commitments. For men’s basketball, I dive into the newly released ACC schedule, including UNC not playing Clemson and not traveling to Raleigh to face NC State this year. I also talk about Alexandros Samodurov committing to Carolina, UNC reportedly contacting yet another guard, and the Tar Heels’ SEC/ACC Challenge matchup this coming winter. On the women’s basketball side, the Lady Heels also announced its SEC/ACC Challenge game. In the recap, I highlight track and field’s strong showing at the NCAA First Round in Lexington, with Kosi Umerah, Makayla Paige, Brynn Brown, and Vera Sjoberg punching their tickets to nationals in Oregon. I also talk about softball’s major All-American honors for Sanaa Thompson and Emily LeGette, and UNC baseball battling through regionals and super regionals to officially punch its ticket back to Omaha. From recruiting and schedule shakeups to national qualifiers, All-Americans, and Omaha, Carolina Athletics is carrying plenty of momentum into the summer.
